Amazon Prime Deal of the Day. Usually retails for £169.99. Have a couple of these now and they work great with the iPhone app

heated... nevertheless item is still expensive...
Pretty sure this is the cheapest they’ve been. Factor in the free 7 day cloud storage and it’s a good deal.
There is Netvue camera which works with Alexa and much cheaper but hot deals deletes it if i post here.
Isn't this really expansive, especially compared to the completely wireless Yi Home 1080p range for a third of the price???

The field of view is pants and are there really people paying £170 (normal price) for the 3 year old tech inside this wired version!
I had one of these and found it very overpriced for what it did. Arming automatically was painful. App used iPhone battery like you wouldn't believe,
I use Blink cameras which I've found to be perfect for what I need.

Ended up returning this one.
Also tried cocoon, canary (until they changed their service) and tplink.
Blink is great.

if this comes with 7 days cloud then it appears a good deal long term? I've got friends using Motorola Hubbles, and 7 days is £75 a year, so this is cheaper within a year.

When you say wired, do you mean wifi, or wired power? Looks like it is wifi, but with a power cable like the hubble

These are WiFi connection with micro usb power.
I picked one up about a year ago when Curry’s cleared them out for £49.97. Alright for that price but wouldn’t pay £100
I’ve had one for a few months after changing from Canary. They are alright. The app is fairly easy to use.

Thye do lose connection a lot, which never happened with the Canary. Also you either have the LED on the front of the camera on or off. With the Canary the light only came on when it was armed which I much preferred.
It it has a solid blue light for connection but it spends as much time flashing(indicating it has lost connection) as it does a solid blue. Having said that anytime I open the app it connects wherever I am.

The 7 days cloud service is the big selling point of this. Very few if any of the competitors offer the same.
Netgear isnt perfect (I have a Arlo Q) but it scores highly against its competitors in reviews and Netgear is a trusted networking brand. You can go cheap (Yi) but i just trust Netgear more for privacy although appreciate anyone is hackable (Sony anyone !).
