If you need a loud voice to remind you what speed you're going then perhaps you should park up and walk.

Waze has always been free. i do like it but i've always swayed to Google. can't live without Google Maps
Not really a deal as its always free, but a good reminder to a useful community driven product. I agree about the navigation side, but seems to trump everything else for alerts for delays, accidents, etc...

maps is better
Good app. This is a free app - a good reminder/promotion for those that don’t know.

Always been partial to Google Maps, but recently have tried Waze.

The navigation isn't quite as good, but it does show speed limits, and speed cameras. Plus you can easily notify other users of issues.
I love Waze, use it all the time because of the social reporting. But its routing could be better. Sometimes I’ll ignore it and when it re-routes it’ll drop 5 minutes off the arrival time. Why not use this route to begin with?

I read somewhere in a study that google often provides the quickest route. Still a good app.

Do you need to have a data connection to use Google maps ? I'm using the Tom Tom app at the moment with 50 free miles per month without data connection.
Remember that Google maps actually rely on Waze reporters. There was many upgrades recently, give it a go if you didn't like it in the past for some reason. I've been a heavy user for 5 years professionally driving for work, and I'm a map editor too which gives a huge potential if you fancy getting involved in map fixes and adding new places for others. Recommended!
INRIX is much better with accurate accidents and rerouting.

I would use google maps more if they added speed limits and fixed their offline maps.

i think Google do offline maps when the connection drops. thing is i'm with Three network and get 12gb data a month so it doesn't really use a lot of data for me. i've never tried it without using data to be honest

Thanks for the info.
Prefer Google maps, used to use waze many years ago. May try it again, this isn't really a deal though, it's always been free.
Google own Waze. Waze is for driving only, whereas Google Maps will do walking along with other things Eventually we may see them become one product.

Beat me by 20 seconds!
Both Google Maps and Waze overlap. Waze got bought by Google nearly 5 years ago.

And street signs tell you where to go as well... Why bother with sat navigation at all eh.

Read the title. Anything wrong in a reminder? If I hadn't uploaded you wouldn't of installed
I should add, I use Waze when I'm know where I'm going (longish journeys) and Maps when I don't. Reason being the social heads-up on Waze.. many a time there's been a hazard (camera van in the bushes) on regular trips that might have taken me by suprise had I not got a warning

Proper sat nav does that. Traffic alerts as well.
I have been using this app for more years than I can imagine and auto starts when it connects to my car bluetooth. It's great butI still get stuck in traffic tho
I have always found Waze excellent.
It is good when meeting up with friends as you can see where they are.

Waze using Google maps as far I know.
Or don’t speed! How many people are killed by inconsiderate people each year, maybe it has to happen to someone they know/love before it sinks in

Does a loud voice reminding you to slow down because their r police there and getting you sir out of a ticket sound handy? Why are you hating on this so much? Go and do something constructive instead of hating technology that could one day get you out of a fine. When I've saved you £50 feel free to leave me a "thank you"

Google Maps has just added that functionality too. You can now share your location in numerous ways and get directions to where other people are.

What do you think people have always done before sat navs/apps if you can’t read a speedometer then you shouldn’t be driving, I didn’t realise they changed the driving test so you don’t need to check on a speedometer.

You would only be fined by doing something stupid! I.e speeding, and it’s hardly a deal hence it being -78 degrees lol
