This is a brilliant book, and it's just dropped in price to £1.19. Amazon states that the print list price is £8.99, but the more accurate comparison is to the Kindle price itself, which has been £4.47 throughout 2014. If you're debtaing it, I promise that it's worth a punt: I can't recommend it highly enough.

Kathy, Ruth and Tommy were pupils at Hailsham - an idyllic establishment situated deep in the English countryside. The children there were tenderly sheltered from the outside world, brought up to believe they were special, and that their personal welfare was crucial. But for what reason were they really there? It is only years later that Kathy, now aged 31, finally allows herself to yield to the pull of memory. What unfolds is the haunting story of how Kathy, Ruth and Tommy, slowly come to face the truth about their seemingly happy childhoods - and about their futures. Never Let Me Go is uniquely moving novel, charged throughout with a sense of the fragility of our lives.

bought this and havent got around to reading it.. i got it second hand on ebay for about £4 after it being recommended to me on numerous occasions by many whos judgement I trust

@ £1.19 ? heat from me

bought the book this several years ago , couldn't get into it, I'll have another go with the Kedition

Good price. I was about to post The Remains of The Day which is on Amazon at £1.92 but have just spotted it has recently gone up from £1.19.

I suspect both books have been reduced because he has a new book out on 3 March 2015:

amazon.co.uk/Bur…id=

So I'm going to hang fire and hope that the others get reduced around that time.

I like Never Let Me Go but I think he peaked as a writer with The Unconsoled in 1995 so would advise anyone who doesn't know his novels to read the earlier stuff first.

I read this some years ago now in paperback. Really lovely story. I would definitely recommend it especially at this price. I've still yet to see the movie adaptation that came out a few years back.

It didn't get favourable reviews, sadly, but I really enjoyed it. A great adaptation by Alex Garland, of all people (him of The Beach, 28 Days Later and now Ex Machina fame), and a lovely, fittingly elegiac sense of direction from Mark Romanek. I'd really recommend it!

Are you sure? Pretty sure the film was in a bunch of 'must see' lists and got positive reception across the board! I enjoyed it.

From memory the film was received well critically. Not universally glowing reviews, more better than than average. It just sort of bombed at the box office though. A nice film and as an avid sci fi reader/watcher a very nice change of pace/setting from the norm.

The most haunting book I've read since 2005. Kept me thinking for days after reading it, nothing came close since....

Great book. Hot. The film is excellent too.
