This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

If you have access to a sch.uk or Ac.uk email address then this deal for the brand-new MacBook Pro 16 inch is over £200 cheaper than the Apple educational store price. These are an authorised Apple retailer and also offer a four year warranty. I have spoken to Apple today who have confirmed that the holding company are an authorised Apple retailer and that there is nothing dodgy about this.

Android users will be pressing the minus button but anybody interested in a decent Apple product this is a very good price

if you’re an Apple hater please just scroll on I’m not interested

Why? You could sell this in 3 years time and lose less money than buying a £1K Windows laptop.

Seems savvy to me.

Agreed, people forget Apple products don't depreciate at the rate of anything else. My 2015 MBP is still worth over 50% of what I paid!!

oh well if a randomer on the internet has spoken to Apple it must be legit

A) I spoke to them. B) you can check yourself. C) jog on.

Edu store are legit - bought through them before. Always great prices.
Hilarious. Steal a deal commented elsewhere by someone else and don’t give them credit...

Saved over £300 with 4 years warranty

Not at all. If I cared that much I’d have made the post. It simply goes against the spirit of this community where credit is supposed to be given for deals found.

Think you might be in the wrong place.

Your words...”not very bright, eh?” because I didn’t see the (2nd) post of yours where you cited your source.

Just uncalled for. Even worse to then accuse others of not acting in the spirit of the site.

Have you tried to sell a 3 year old Mac recently then?? This logic certainly used to be true.
Macs, particularly at the higher end are more difficult to sell than they used to be. I would fancy my chances of recouping say 80% of the value of a 1k Windows machine (depending on brand) than 80% of a 2k Mac after a couple of years.

CEX is a fairly good source for 2nd hand pricing.

Also, you’re getting about 15% off to begin with here, so you’ve got a head start.

We are on a deals website, so you would probably be getting a discount on the hypothetical Windows machine too.
I'm fairly brand/platform agnostic these days, but I agree with the 2nd post. I would suggest that a student getting themselves into circa £27k debt (not including living expenses) would be ill advised to spend £2k on a laptop. Suggesting that a larger proportion of the large outlay can be recouped after 3 years in comparison to something much cheaper just isn't sensible in my opinion.
The average student could survive quite comfortably on a £300 laptop for 3 years. i think you'd easily lose £600 on a 2K Mac after 3 years, irrespective of £200 discount in this deal.
Students must be loaded these days.

So many assumptions and many are incorrect. This is a deals website and this is 20% off the latest MacBook Pro. It’s a deal, end of story.

Eh ? So you're saying that a student earning 100k+ would be concerned about a £200 discount on a Mac ? I think students earning £100k+ are also very much in a minority.
If that were the case, why would they be concerned about recouping the majority of the initial price when selling 3 years later?
Sorry, that's a strange comment.
