About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Update 18/03: Do NOT buy a 4G version! See page 18 of comments for reasons why!
Approx £367 After £12.33 quidco and 479 club card points or cheaper if you know anyone that works there and can get staff discount.
Existing customers can get £15 off using voucher code TDXR-JMF4
New customers get £10 off using TDX-H4JW
Note, these are selling out very fast and if the iPad2's release is anything to go by, coupled with the reported problems with display panel supply, these will be going for at least £60 above the rrp on fleebay by early next week!
Edit - Or if you can sell 2 at £599 each, like ebay item 200728770193 (thanks zermattbusby) then it's BUY 2 GET 1 FREE :-D
PS. To all the Apple haters, this is a luxury item and not a neccesity. I'm an Android fan but cannot deny the iPad (jail broken) is currently the best tablet.

Update: the £15 code doesn't seem to work for some people (you may need to make sure you're signed upto ClubCard). I got the code in an email last night so it may not be for everyone. Also, it only allowed me to use it once. So, created a new account and used the £10 for a 2nd iPad but it wouldn't let me use the £15 code on the new account for a 2nd order.
Update2 - chalkysoil (thanks)

The £10 Code IS for New customers, you have to make sure you use a different email address. I got the code from Quidco: quidco.com/tes…?ac
Alternatively, you can get an extra years warranty from John Lewis instead of the ~£28 discount from Tesco.
Don't forget 6 months interest free for Tesco Credit Card holders

It's a deal because it works out to be the chepest new iPad available at the moment, is it really that hard to understand?

Was that a joke?? Pathetic.
Thank you
So youve ordered but not got this yet?
So how can you comment on how good it is?
Yes they are really black..
so £450 for new ipad, well worth it
If Apple allowed microSDHC card slots then it would be worth buying it. I think its better to get the Asus Transformer Prime Infinity 32GB with the keyboard when it comes out soon. That ways you get the 1080p screen, a microSDHC card slot, microHDMI port and in the keyboard you get a USB port and a SDHC card slot. So if you can buy multiple memory cards and then you have loads of extra storage. Or like a friend of mine you could have a 3TB USB drive and just connect that via the USB and use it to store all you movies onto it.
where do you get your information from? since when does sitting at home re-downloading / re-syncing apps over wifi that you have already paid for cost money?

@ misterjohn
I agree with all your arguments for the 16Gb vs the 32Gb which is why I posted the follow up comment earlier. With my 16Gb iPad 2 I was constantly running out of space, especially with a 3yr old and all her apps. The problem went away when I got my NAS server and an app that shows me which apps/games get used the most and for how long, that way I can just delete the ones she doesn't use. I only use the app store to see what's new, free and popular. If I need to re-install any apps I just grab them from my NAS and use Installous. If I didn't have my NAS or needed a portable solution, I'd simply save all my .ipa files on a USB drive.
My recommendation of the 16Gb over the 32Gb is purely on the fact that most of us on hukd do not like being ripped off. It's bad enough paying £399 (or £369 in this case) for a device that costs Apple less than £200, but to pay £80 for just 16Gb is a step too far for me but others will give in and pay the price for the convenience of not having to go to the lengths I do.
If Apple are all about the 'Experience' by not making the base model 32Gb instead of 16Gb especially with all their emphasis on HD everything, the 'experience' for the novice to average user will not be a pleasant one!
I haven't tested the camera kit with a non-jail broken device but am pretty sure you can use it to store movies as well as pictures. 3rd party Free players from the app store should be able to play .mkv and .avi files directly off the USB drive. Will test it before jail breaking my iPad 3.

i used to have protection on my ipad 2 till i gave up after 2 days and peeled it off, you dont realise the amount of clarity you are diminishing by sticking a screen protector on it
by the way .,.. purchased new ipad on satuday from apple store... sat it next to my ipad 2... ok its heavier and the screen is a lil more clearer but as far as im concerned that was it, so sunday morning , back in the box and zoomed to the apple store to give it back, if im going to spend 650 pounds on an upgraded model i want to really feel like ive upgraded
i dont want to buy a ferrari for an extra 100,000 and realise its only been upgraded with a yellow gearnob
think about it .............................
Personally I reckon the 16Gb is best value. It's manufacturing cost is estimated at around £200, so paying another £80 (costs Apple £10) for 16Gb more memory is daylight robbery! Your better off getting a camera connection kit/adapter for £3.19 and using memory cards or USB sticks or even cloud computing.
As for the 4G capabilities, by the time 4G becomes available nationally all the main rivals Samsung, HTC etc. will have 4G phones which will come with bundled data plans allowing you to create a wifi hotspot.
I currently use my iPad2 via my Android phone on Orange network through an app called 'WIFI Tether'.
Update:
Recommendation: Do NOT buy a 4G version. See page 18 of comments for reasons why!

No jailbreak needed.
hotukdeals.com/dea…277
Where did you bring it from?
Yeah. Samsung has supplied all the initial screens and Sharp will also supply screens later. How does anyone know that Sharp screens would be better than Samsung screens? Evidence?

To elaborate:
I truly love a spectacular screen but the more I think about the iPads retina display, the less I can figure out about it. First of all, the iPad would probably be a great device for movies but true HD is considered as 1080p so why bother with 1536? So that leaves web browsing..... Have you ever know a web designer to optimise images on a site past 1200?? Pretty screens are all good but it will rarely be actually shown except for vector based graphics and then that will eat up a lot of the new graphics processing power just to give you a similar result to the ipad2 anyway. Besides all this, its actually given itself more work to do, further stressing the same old CPU that was in the previous model and the new display completely cancels out the increased battery size.
Save yourself a couple of hundred and stick with iPad2
I didn't think that I would like/use the iPad, but for me its been a revelation.. I use it every day and almost never use my Laptop any more.
I always said that even if it cost me £200 to upgrade to the next/new model I would.. After all, thats a fraction of what I spend on Beer in a year... But now the time has come, I am not sure... I don't know whether £200 is worth it for a better screen and Camera..
With this deal, it was temping, but I am not sure, so I am kind of releaved that the code isn't working as I can postpone the decision to another day...
Jon
However, I'm picking one up tomorrow with 10% staff discount from Tesco. It's not what you know...
Having just got mine, I'd say absolutely it's worth the upgrade. It's like viewing a backlit magazine!
Ooops....I've just bought one. Don't know how that happened.
Wise choice, I'm waiting for the Samsung new tablet with 1920x1200 resolution running on Android... Much more useful for geeks

Shouldn't be too long for the jailbreak for the iPad 3rd Gen:
cydiablog.com/the…us/
Of course it won't be in Chinese, Ipads the same wherever you buy it. Also, Ipads have a worldwide warranty so yes, you can take it into any applestore to get it fixed.

The way I look at it is, if I save between £24 to £29 (after cashback and clubcard points) and buy 3. If it pans out and eBay prices do go crazy next week (if they don't I can just return the items under DSR), I can sell 2 along with my mint condition iPad 2 which I got for £299 a few months back and after eBay fees etc... it will not have cost me anything to upgrade. OR for those who don't already own an iPad, they'll be getting an iPad 3 for the price of an iPad 2.
Personally I would skip Johnny Lewis 2 year warranty get the tesco deal then buy a square trade warranty which includes accidental damage with no excess and they have an excellent rep with excellent feedback.
A 2 year warranty is all well and good but without accidental damage its high risk since you will get 1 year anyway.

Then sell on ebay in around a weeks time for what 450?
When initial stocks have dried up
I know people have done this in the past but cant see it happening with the 3rd Gen tbh
Last year, there was a shortage of stock of the Ipad2 and I had to wait until August before they had stock. You could order one online before you fly and pay cash into their HK bank of America account when you arrive in HK. After you've paid, email/fax them a photo of your deposit receipt and Apple will DHL it to your HK address next day.
Also, keep in mind your Duty free allowance is £390.
Hopefully, this year they will have stock.

Sent from my casio calculator
No, shouldn't make any difference how you pay.
That batch was probably missing the Apple logo, hence reflecting it's true value
PS. did they bother replying to any of the petitions?
The £10 voucher is from Quidco, and it says £10 off and 3% Quidco, so i guess it will still validate.
Mine has already tracked at just over £12.
