Your actually incorrect. 3000 calories of Mars bars v 3000 calories of vegetables is exactly the same thing. A calorie is a calorie and if you burn more than you eat you will loose weight (this is an absolute fact i’m afraid). Eating healthier calories is obviously the way to go due to the additional benefits it would bring from a general well being side of things and it will likely make you feel better which could lead to increased activity and therefore more calorie burn but in the context it most certainly is CI v CO = fat gain or fat loss.

These ice creams aren’t healthy but they are a lower calorie substitute for those who like to indulge. By having this ice cream as a substitute option for when you have a craving, or just feel like throwing the towel in, it may well be enough to allow some people to continue dieting rather than falling off the wagon because they demolished a tub of full fat/ calorie stuff and washed that down with 4 doughnuts.

Good post on the price of it,so ill give it heat at price. But i wouldnt advise anybody thinking its ok to have half a tub with it saying low calorie,as it still a good sugar intake. If it was based alone just on that type of sweetner which is one of the best ones it would be great. So anybody looking for a hot body this summer you can take a spoonfull here and there.
Awesome, I usually get the original Gianni's Cookie Dough on my cheat day so this will only help! Hopefully it's just as nice!

Thanks for posting the photo,
Unfortunately this would knock me out of keto, good if I was in a break though.
I thought it would be Keto friendly but look at that sugar content, thats quite high compared to Halo Top

Halo Top, Brewers and Asda’s own low calorie brand seem to be okay for me. Just mind over matter for making sure you don’t have too much. I have around 25-30% of a tub as a treat every now and again. Sometimes with a couple of pieces of 90% dark chocolate and a teaspoon of whole low carb peanut butter haha

Might be better off making your own ice cream. Plenty of Keto recipes out there and just freeze it. I’ve done it a few times. But having around 25-30% off a tub of Halo for example shouldn’t hurt too much. It can cause a spike in insulin but has never knocked me out of Ketosis. As long as you don’t go over board and as long as you stay in a caloric deficit. 👌

This is the problem. People are looking at this as healthy because it's less calories. It's only low calorie because they've cut all the fat out. Low fat ice cream, yogurts, cream, etc etc is not good for you, your body needs fat, it does not need all the added sugar. Dairy has no sugar in it, zero carbs, so why has this which is a dairy product have four times more sugar than fat???

It will likely be to do with the taste of the product. The way I always look at it is products that state they are low in either fat or sugar is if it's low sugar it will be higher in fat same as if its low fat their will be more sugar in it in order not to effect the taste

If your BMR is 1700 calories and you burn off a further 600 calories, that's 2300 calories a day. If you then eat 1800 calories a day, you'll lose weight. It doesn't matter if that 1800 calories is full of pizzas, burgers, ice cream or chocolate. If you're in a calorie deficit, you're going to lose weight. It really is that simple.

I'm speaking directly through experience here.

In terms of weight loss all that matters is calories, in terms of health of course the vegestables are healthier.
But in terms of weight loss you're completely wrong. Some people may need more or less calories than the next person to maintain their weight, but the laws of thermodynamics still rule.
If you need 2000 calories to maintain your weight it doesn't matter if that comes from Mars bars, vegestables or Halo Top. Exactty the same applies to weight loss and weight gain.

I am also speaking through experience.

I spent 7 months on a diet set out by my local doctors in a scheme called health trainers, I was on 1200 calories a day. I have a very physical job and walk over 20,000 steps and am lifting all day. I also work 10-12hrs a day. According to the myfitnesspal app I burn in excess of 3500 calories. Yet in 7 months I lost 16 lbs, a smidge over a stone.

Then someone intruduced me to Keto, I've been on keto for 18 months now, I've lost 9 stone in that time and am now at my target weight and have never felt more energetic in my life, all my back pain has gone, I am off all my diabetes medication and I now am on heavily reduced medication for acid reflux and Crohn's disease which I've had for 5 years. Whilst on keto I eat as much as I want, I eat easily over 3000 calories daily, probably 4-5000, we have keto puddings after every dinner and I can eat all the 80+ cocao I want. I don't even see it as diet.

To say all calories are equal and that is all CICO is total nonsense.

The rapid weight loss you experienced would largely be down to the fact that as 1g of carb will store about 2-3g of water in glycogen so without them your body will lose that. Long term studies have proven that there's no difference between low carb or low fat diets in regards to weight loss, it's a matter of CICO whether you watch some fella on YouTube say otherwise.
Keto could possibly make weight loss easier in the fact that fats and proteins are more satiating so keep you feeling full for longer, or the fact that carbs will spike insulin and make you feel hungrier. But apart from that it's mainly just CICO my friend.

1200 calories sounds like a very low amount, you're not really recommended to go below a 500 calorie daily deficit. I'd say you being in such a large caloric deficit and only losing over a stone in 7 months is extremely rare. You still lost weight, so you proved burning more calories than you consume works - just not as quickly as it should have.

I ate 1900/2000 calories a day for a year and ate as much carbs as I wanted and lost almost 6 stone. I ate all sorts of rubbish and the weight fell off (eating late at night being bad for weight loss is another myth).

I'd also recommend people to not go on diets that cut everything they like out, because as soon as the weight is off they'll likely put it right back on again. That's why products like this are a great alternative to the ones with 3x the calories.
Quite high in sugar still.
