Simple price discrimination - casual users will be perfectly happy with 32GB, more serious users who want lots of local content will need to stump up the extra £100 for the 128GB model. If the base model was 64GB, they'd sell far fewer of the 128GB models.

It wouldn't surprise me if the two models were actually the same, but the smaller one had 3/4 of it's memory disabled in some fashion - although there would probably be an outcry by people who don't understand basic economic concepts if someone stripped one down and spotted it.

Don't like it? Don't buy it. Businesses are there to take your money, not to make you feel good (unless that helps them sell more product to you). It's how capitalism works, and sadly we haven't found a better system to replace it yet.

They want your data ofcourse 😁.

Is this deal worth it when the iPad pro 10.5 2017 is due to come down? Better framerate, a little more ram and a slightly better processor.

This is Apple we are talking about, if they made the base model 64gb they change an extra £100 for it.

Simple supply and demand. I'm quite sure when sales drop off, they'll make changes.
A10 fusion for 2019/2010, well done.

Pretty much the same as the 2018 version, I went for that went it was on offer for 223 last week as watched a comparison and only difference is screen size and smart connection.
That said good price for new model which came out today.

Pretty Damn unlikely atm. Sorry
Guys. I keep looking at these iPad deals with a view to updating to a newer pro model, but opinion seems divided on what is the best model to get. The older 10.5 or new 11 one or 12.9 or what? Really just want the best experience and I appreciate the 12.9 is quite a bit bigger but that’s not a problem for me, unless paying a huge amount more just for the extra screen size.
They are also selling the 32GB 2018 version at £253 (or 128GB at £302) which is also a good deal, only difference is no smart connector for keyboard and slightly smaller display.
Are eglobal any good ? Long delivery wait ??

It's a budget model.

Being perfectly honest, I made the mistake of getting a 128GB iPad and didn't even touch anywhere near it.

If you're looking at only pro models specifically, id wait till the next one is announced - I would check out Mac-rumours for any related updates.

I am still using the 10.5 pro and its not slowed down at all, only issue is the battery I am seeing to depreciate naturally over time.

The speakers on the iPad are bottom-firing. The sound is one sided.
Mediapad have Harman quad speakers. If you use it mainly for media, the Huawei.

Is that the 10 inch M5 lite? Is that still available? That's really good price.

It’s Ford Fiesta marketing. Ford made the ‘Popular’ version back in the 80s which was the cheapest model with no gadgets and wind down windows, and only a few people bought it. Ford didn’t make as much money on this version, but it was designed to encourage you to spend more money on higher spec models. Same for the iPad.

now you got me thinking again! i thought the OP had convinced me to get an ipad, ummmm.....

yes it was the 10 inch huawei m5 lite for £157 from amazon germany or italy. i was very tempted but it came with a european plug so i would need to use a 3 pin plug adaptor and that got me sitting on the fence.

i mainly use the tablet to watch movies through headphones or to listen to music through speakers so the screen resolution is important but the speakers won't be as i won't be using the speakers on the tablet. i need a tablet with long battery life and one that doesn't need charging every couple of hours after the first year. i currently have the ipad air 1st generation, which is 6 years old but the battery on that is still very good. it is slow but not incredibly so, and for what i use it for the speed is fine. it will probably go on for another 4 years without issue as it is still supported by apple.

In that case, STILL stick with the iPad. For the extra cost you won’t regret it, especially if you already know your way around iPads. New iPadOS is really good, and you’ll get support for years to come with a new iPad. Also, for those times when you will browse the internet, again you’ll be glad you got the iPad I’m sure.

Also, the screen ratio on the Mediapad is proper 16:10 for movies, you would have a smaller screen size with boarders on the iPad. You can get a genuine Huawei charger on eBay, around £7.

Maybe so, but I can’t ever remember buying or downloading a film in 16:10 format, as everything currently and for a long time has been 16:9, unless it’s old and then it’s 4:3 which is also perfect for iPad. 16:10 will be stretching the image. I’m happy to stand corrected if wrong though.

16gb so not a huge amount but i don't store anything on it except about 15 mp3 tracks. there are no photos or anything like that as i only ever use it to watch movies and listen to music.

it is still reasonably fast and i get about 5 hours battery life from it. i think the battery has lasted a while because it wasn't used much for the first 3 years as i bought it for my mum and she never really used it. then i took it and never really used it either until the last couple of years.

32GB is borderline but fine for casual use as you say especially with iOS 13 and smaller app sizes. The higher end iPads start with 64GB which is fair. They are using actual 32GB of flash memory, not cutdown or disabled graded chips - that stuff goes into cheap memory sticks.

This 7th gen iPad basically reuses the Pro/Air 3 chassis with a smaller poorer display, the internals are the same as the 2018, same A10 and same 2GB RAM.
