And yet people still continue to buy their overpriced products!

Why are you even on this thread if you’re not interested in an iPhone? No one here will care about your opinion.

Excellent deal. I've been waiting for these to drop a little in price from £779 for the 64GB. I've ordered this which is an awesome price for a new phone.

The A grade for £480 looks a good price too. A grade has always been immaculate when I've bought from them.

Honestly don't know how people can justify this much on a phone when there are far far better phones out there for cheaper. Still the fanboys will defend them to the death no matter what they do

Nah, most iPhone users just lack the basic common sense that gives them better value for money, which is ironic considering this app is supposed to be precisely for doing that

Is there any reason that your phone is in Low Power Mode (yellow battery indicator) with what looks to be a full/near full charge? Might be why it's running slower?

iOS 12.3? How'd you manage to install that? Is it a beta?

I’m the one that needs to get a life? How dense are you? You Android fanboys are the ones wasting your time on an Apple thread

Yes mate. It’s beta version. It’s running better than the IOS 12.2 version which was killing the phone!

You talk about iPhone users lacking basic knowledge yet you seem incapable of understand cost of ownership.
iPhones cost more but also hold their value spectacularly well. The iPhone X was released October 17 and was £999 new. You can currently get £435 for it at musicmagpie making it £564 to own for 1 year & 6 months.
The Galaxy S9 Plus was £869 new. MusicMagpie will give you £270 for it now making it £599 to own for 1 year and 2 months. So it’s more expensive to own in an even shorter period of time.

I can only apologise if what I’ve described is too complex for yourself to understand.

Battery drain quite rapid unless stamina mode- I don’t mind the slight slowing- what I noticed is that with newer updates phone is way slower that when it was released (whichever mode you run it) - I got it as soon as it came out.

Also I don’t like backgrounds apps running data, and data drain with cloud stuff with normal mode- stamina mode cuts out the background stuff that goes on- even when full batter.
Thanks

I think you've completely ignored the fact that android isn't just Samsung. But anyway, inkeeping with this conversation, the flip side to that is that you can buy a used S9 for £350 whereas a used iPhone X will set you back more than £600, yet the difference is negligible in terms of quality. If all you're talking about is resale value then it makes more sense, otherwise android is far better value for money

No I haven’t, I just assumed you didn’t want an essay detailing every android phones resale value so I just picked the most popular android handset.
Yes, that is the case but resale value will still apply on these used handsets too when you sell them, even more so considering that Apple keep their phones updated for around 5 years compared to Samsung’s promise of two major updates.

I have no preference between iOS and Android. I actually spend more time on Android than iOS devices (Typing this from a Galaxy Tab S2). However, when people derail iPhone deal threads and fill it with ‘I don’t know how people can justify this or iSheep blah blah blah’ it can get pretty irritating and there’s no need for it. If you don’t like iPhones thats perfectly fine but HUKD doesn’t need to know about it in every iPhone thread.
Thought this was a fairly average price until I saw it was brand new, in which case makes it a bloody good deal.

Who ever said that £869 was justifiable either? They're both ridiculous and should be criticised. Also higher resale value doesn't justify being ripped off in the first place.

What a ridiculous statement. Resale value is everything. If I bought a phone for £999 and it only depreciated by £100 in two years that would make it better value than a £200 Xiaomi. Don’t let that get in the way of your agenda though

Whether you’ve been ripped off or not is subjective to your needs. Phones are also packing more expensive technology than they were in years past so a price increase was bound to happen.
If you don’t want or can’t afford it, there’s plenty of mid and low range options for people to pick from.
Still this is a good price and a better phone to work with . Heat added

You neglect to mention that almost nobody was stupid enough to pay £869 RRP for the S9+, or if they did it was on pre-order with a freebie attached. I bought mine for £554 I think, when an iPhone will stay close to RRP for ages. Retail prices for most phones are irrelevant, only Apple products stick to retail as people still buy it at that high cost.

Sellphone24 pay £321.20 for the S9+ UK base model. They pay £435.10 for the iPhone X base model.

iPhone X: £999-£435.10=£563.90
Galaxy S9 Plus: £869-£321.20=£547.80

This means the Galaxy S9 Plus is in fact cheaper to own, even using RRP prices to calculate.
