The latest version of Apple's media streaming device, Airplay compatible.

Putting the anti-Apple religious wars to one side, this seems to be the cheapest deal for the Apple TV if you do want to buy one. Note that the voucher (MYVAUT25 or Quidco's published AW25PCLAUNCH) is valid only until Nov 30th, dropping the price to £86.03. Cheapest delivery is £4.69 (or £4.57 with the voucher). Quidco tracks at 1.5%.

If it could be hacked to a hd media and apps player I'd be interested. Does it have a usb port?

Cold I think these are a rip off in the uk, in the USA they only cost $99

is this hot just cos it's apple....what makes it so good please? wish people would say why just as they should when voting cold,

Doesn't make it cold does it, if it's the cheapest price accessible by people in the UK then it's clearly a bloody deal

Already got one of these but have been thinking about buying another for a different room in the house.

Perfect - Thanks.

Well the TRUE point of this website is to vote something hot if its a better deal than everywhere else, in this case it is... so voted hot.

If you buy all your movies and music through iTunes, then yes, this is a good product.. otherwise, junk.

Of course, you would have the cost of having to travel and relocate to live in the USA.... ;-)

It's a good deal... good product and good price for a UK version... absolutely pointless telling us what they cost elsewhere in the world.......

Awesome - just ordered. Was going to get an airport express to stream my phone to speakers but this does that also and some added extras. Great find. Ta

great kit, you can set up an apple us account buy itunes vouchers on ebay for usa. less expensive way to buy as a lot of us shows are only 99c to hire, works out way cheaper than sky packages and you don't have to consume ads or worry if you have set to record! And you do get movies and shows much sooner than the uk

Plus sales tax for the city and state you're in, yes. They're not included in headline US prices.
In my experience, it generally works out a little cheaper to buy an Apple product in the US -- but not enough to lose sleep over.

ah, voting for voting's sake, with no knowledge of what you're voting for! makes complete sense.

just cos a product is sold for the cheapest price, doesn't make it a deal.ever heard of value for money? people will vote this hot cos of apple and not know anything about the product.
by-the-by, for one thing, it's extremely limited so you're going to have to hack into it and void the warranty if you want to do a few more things than apple want you to.cos this is the lowest price, doesn't mean it's a hot deal

What a truly idiotic comment, do we live in the US, no we don't do we!!

Of course it's a hot deal for people who are looking to buy one as it's the cheapest they can get it?!

What do i need to use one of these? ie, is it gonna be any good to take it to uni to use in the halls?

As already mentioned, these ate only useful if you buy or rent stuff via Apple. For those of us with divx, avi or mkv files Apple TV is useless.

LMAO, are you for real?

If it's the cheapest price available then of course it's a deal.
Most of the deals on this site do not represent value for money goods, it's about getting the cheapest price for all goods.

Don't forget US States will have sales tax added. When you add in transportation costs, exchange rates etc, the price is pretty comparable, even at RRP.

i bought this to stream music around my house, its quite good now because i can view what im watching on my ipad or iphone onto apple tv in 1 click.

Totally agree, companies that trade at $1=£1 are ripping us off in the UK (Apple, Sony etc) they will not be getting my hard earned cash when there are alternative and maybe better products available.

these should sell of quick
.

I am voting cold because these are available in Afganistan for 10 pence cheaper

for the people who still want to buy this then go ahead and be ripped off, see if I care.

Good spot though op, for those that can't get cheap flights.

yep. totally for real. read most threads and you'll find fairly informative and useful advice as to the value/worth of a so called deal. try looking up 'forum' in the dictionary. if this site was JUST about the cheapest deal we wouldn't have discusions, detailed product descriptions and, dare i say it, people helping each other out. so it's not simply about getting the cheapest price, is it? sometimes a product maybe sold for a few pounds more but that is a better deal because, eg, of who is selling it. maybe you should get real.

He means because of the CPU limitation even hacked it can't play the best download formats such as 720p MKV. iTunes HD movies are a lower bitrate and the ATV has a hardware decoder for Apple's specific video format. No one is going to bother downscaling their movies for the ATV when there are many alternatives available now that play 720p MKV fine. So yeh if you'd like to stream music then this has added value compared to the airport express, that you can watch your photo slideshows, its a good price for that.

Does this mean that you intend to vote cold best prices in UK for all products (cars, pc's, tv's etc) that can be had cheaper in USA?

You and your brigade will make it harder for the casual visitor to spot best prices and what are good deals for non travel agents.

what? i didn't vote cold. i have no idea why you've aimed that at me cos i have said nothing and have no interest in usa prices. read the thread buddy.

I have read the thread and it wan't aimed at you.

so did you aim a mouse click at any random post and make up a question? your qs has absolutely nothing to do with my posts

huh... the buy now button doesn't do anything. Anyone used this company before?

Can you run XBMC on one of these cos if you can I'm having one?

Thanks

These things are pretty neat if you already use Apple Macs. Expect to pay £99 for the same product at an Apple store.

You're confusing a good deal with a hot deal.

I understand that the hackable atvs are the older silver ones that are based on a low power pc and have a drive, not the newer hockey puck ones which are based on the A4 iphone 4 chip with no hdd.
