Well I am sure you'll become rich and famous buddy. I wish you good endeavours!
Ryzen CPUs also don't suffer from the many exploits that Intel CPUs are vulnerable to.

Ryzen doesn't rule in the laptop world. Not just yet anyway. It'll be a different picture in a year's time.
Can I play some games on this do you reckon?

Why not? For a laptop ryzen makes more sense than Intel given far better graphics performance and near as dammit cpu performance

Worse battery life, software hiccups and a lack of optimisation.

I didn't in any way say it was bad, but to state that it is 'best' isn't true and depends on your use case.

I bought this from John Lewis for 399 and returned it. The screen is really (really) bad for multimedia playback.

This is not IPS. It's TN, crap screen for me. You had me excited.

It's a good deal if you don't mind an IPS. I am just picky. There is no good deals on 15.6'' IPS with middle of the road CPUs though. I have an Amex, but no microsoft store offer in site.
Op, you might want to think it over, after reading some negative feedbacks from Amazon.
Thermal throttling while gaming, noisy fan and poor screen.
They may have cut too many corners.

Actually only slightly better due to the fact that they're all locked down to 15W TDP
Mobile Vega 8 is a throttling mess as of right now and performs at a third of the performance of the desktop version
Don't buy a 3500U and think you can game anything other than LoL and WoW

I agree the throttling is annoying and has to be addressed from either AMD or the laptop manufacturers but with a bit of research on Reddit you can easily find a fix

For a budget gaming laptop you could have a look at this:

hotukdeals.com/dea…027

Way more powerful than this with an IPS display. Price is maybe only good for today.

Returned where? I looked on Amazon warehouse and even with the 20% discount there was nothing similar in specs for the money. The 1650 gpu on this outperforms a 1050ti and it also has a 9th gen i5 when refurbs/returns mostly have 8th gen. If you know of a better deal please post it.

At 520£ sure great deal, but at 580 you can get a refurb laptop with GTX 1060. As the CPU isn't a bottleneck, doesn't matter if its a slightly older gen, you'll benefit significantly more from that GTX 1060 upgrade.

Don't really want to go above 500 because I will mainly use it for work based activities and probably a little bit of gaming.

Then the lenovo L340 gaming is exactly what you are after. 6% Quidco cashback could bring it under £500 but not guaranteed. For the money there is nothng better. Buying used with a lower spec processor for a couple of percent gfx performance is not a good idea (not likely there's anything under £500 of that description with an IPS display anyway).

Be quick though the price will probably go up after today. Brand new higher spec laptop direct from the manufacturer or lower spec dodgey refurb for more money off ebay? Hmm tough choice...

Yeah I'm seriously considering that one actually.. looks pretty slick. I bought a refurb off eBay before.. never again. I might have a look at some official refurbs directly from the manufacturers and see if there is anything decent out there

Seriously I've spent a couple of days looking around already but if you find something better please post it! This machine is not for serious gaming but is light years ahead of anything at the same pricepoint. Free returns if you don't like it. Just be quick as it will end or stock will go very soon.

You're a bit of a moron ain't you, GTX 1060 significantly outperforms the GTX 1650. And 8th Gen I7 outperforms your 9th I5. Found one for £520 with warranty. Don't get why you're trying to promote your deal so much, Its not even a good deal at £579.99 . You working for Lenovo or something?

Ooh touchy. The deal is £521. It's a no brainer for this spec and brand new from the manufacturer. No need to resort to abuse just post up your better deal or at least tell us who from.

If its £521 good deal tbh but the post says its 579.99 now? And saying GTX 1650 is better is just a joke. In any case you'd rather have a marginally better GPU, then a slightly better CPU. Ill send you a screenshot after one of these lads have purchased it.

The Cyber Monday price is £579 then it goes down to £521.99 with the 10% off newsletter sign up code. Possible 6% Quidco too. I didn't say that a 1650 outperforms a 1060. It's horses for courses. He said he wants a productivity machine with some gaming chops for 500. That's exactly what the Lenovo is. And no, I'm not on the Lenovo payroll, just sharing a good deal.
