Are these waterproof?

Mesh upper. So in essence as waterproof as a sieve. Saying that, same goes for most trail running shoes.

inov8 do some Goretex trail running shoes which I occasionally use for biking, they're brilliant, tho of course water can get in via ankle opening.
I have these exact shoes. For me, these are brilliant running shoes in general (mix of roads and paths). There's a decent amount of cushioning yet the shoes still feel very light. I'd highly recommend these, especially for longer distance running. Good price here too
Thanks OP, ordered. Worth noting that you can get a prepaid return label for £1.99 and free shipping over £75.

I ordered two sizes to get the fit right and a running top, ones I don’t need will go back and PayPal refund return shipping anyway
Would these be any good to wear for a tough mudder?
May be a strange question but does anyone know if these fit the same as a ‘normal’ 590? I’ve found New Balance really hit and miss for sizing, especially in terms of toe box height

I have 590v5 as my road/park run shoe.
They're certainly not waterproof, but let's face it. If you didn't want to get wet, you wouldn't do Tough Mudder. I'd say they were as appropriate as any other trail running shoe would be. Just make sure you wear thicker socks than normal and do the laces up a bit tighter than normal to prevent the shoe from falling off in the bog!
im seriously getting interested in a tough mudder. the thing about running shoes is u want them to be airy n meshy for ventilation to ur feet/ less mushrooms
Or pay 9.99 for delivery and get one whole year of next day deliveries free with M and M.... Is brilliant... Even if I order a pair of socks for
£3.

Just order 3 pairs and send the ones back that don’t fit. £1.99 delivery lol
these are trail shoes - not tough mudder type product youd be better looking at something with a deeper tread pattern -Inov8 Mudclaws or if you want to save the pennies More Miles Cheviot 4s both brands go up half a size minimum. I have tried on several NB products recently and they just havent felt right for me - that said good price.

Hi sofaclass, as you have experience of these, would you mind me asking if you know if they'd be any good as a stability/overpronation running shoe? I run approximately 30-40 miles a week currently.

That's a good mileage of running every week! Best stability shoe for me is ASICS gel keyano 25.
I bought these but unfortunately sent them back as they felt quite narrow and small fitting for me. Quality seemed very good though for the price!
Ordered these when the deal originally popped up, they're very comfy but they do fit very snug. If you know your size in Asics consider ordering a half/full size up.
always buy 1/2 size more than you usual one same for Karrimor, 9.5 is good fit for me with this brand

I don't really know, sorry. I run 30km on a good week and my feet are happy in these shoes. I am basically a total beginner though - I had to look up what overpronation meant

Main reason I didnt order any. I have no idea how they will fit. Ideally need to try them in store, but i've never seen these stocked in a shop before.

If you run 30km a week, you aren't a beginner, well done
Why do they never have size 14
davidridge16 m ago

You a basketball player?

Not anymore just have big feet and find it hard to find shoes to fit
I got these but am sending them back. I am a size 9 in nikes and I got size 9 in these, but they are a bit too narrow. Size 9.5 might have been better. In any case, the quality of them seems just ok.

I think this might have put me off buying running shoes online - risk of them not being right is too high - I've just wasted 8 quid on these (delivery and return). With running shoes, the risk is probably not worth the savings unless you know exactly what you're getting (i.e you've already tried them on in a bricks an mortar store or you already own a very similar pair)
