Which bit of "saloon" confused you
DarrylJohn13/09/2019 18:12

Does the list just show every single part?Seats? Really? Lol

I can't see indicators listed though....
"acoustic glazing"

Great! I hate the heavy metal windows on most cars!

Once the orders dry up they will soon change their minds about tarrifs!

BMW simply have to be competitive with other manufacturers. If all the prices go up 10%, BMW won't need to do anything, and we'll just have to pay more for our cars. Still, we'll be able to have bendy bananas again, which compensates.

its crying out for a 3L diesel...

Nah it’ll sound crap, needs the B58 engine.

I pick my new Cooper S F56 next week, I’ve been told the B48 in the 3, 4 and 5 series have a different intercooler setup which in theory at least can provide a lot more power. But 250bhp is possible in the F56 MINI with this engine and a tuning box.

this is an estate not a hot hatch.

However, I don't think may 24 year olds will a) want to tow a caravan b) probably can't afford to insure anything like a 535d as my insurance dictates no-one under 25 can drive it anyway. Those that do want to drive a caravan at that age simply need to take an additional test as far I now understand? B + E entitlement?

Correct, although I expect many would rather try and stay within the confines of the weight limit than take the additional test. This affects anyone up to the age of 40 (or older if they obtained their license after age 17). Also applies if you were to lose your license and have to take the test again.

Looking at the 520d, any chain issues like in the past?

The options you’ll want will be expensive though!!

I just bought an M140i with a 3 litre straight six pertol engine. I just checked to be exact.. its £145 + £320 = £465 per year for the next 5 years after the first year.

You’re continually paying for a car when the depreciation is at its highest, then having to give it back and do the same all over again. At least with this I know that I’ll keep it for 10-15 years and then sell it after that for a grand or 2. Heat from me

Leasing isn't for people who keep their cars for 5+ years, as you've just worked out.

We do both, I have a near 20 old MR2 roadster owned for last 14 years, and other car my wife uses we change every 2-3 years or whenever manufacturers warranty runs out/ I get bored of it. Having one car owned outright means I'm happy for pay a load for a nice shiny new lease/pcp car that annoys folk on here. Only kept the MR2 as it's a Toyota, and they don't go wrong, outside of servicing it's needed 2 oxygen sensors and a couple of batteries after harsh winters. Will only get rid if it's stolen or I wrap it round a tree.
silentplayer13/09/2019 22:32

I think indicators are an option

It's the M series. I'm sure they're not even an option on this spec as everyone else should just automatically move outta ya way.
43k for a 2l estate , what a joke
Sashecuador15/09/2019 18:37

I want the 2060 version.looks cool

I can just imagine that pulling up behind me on the motorway, seeing nothing but a BMW grille in the rear view mirror.

...oh wait, that happens anyway in 2019.
ollie8714/09/2019 14:00

Big car for an engine that gets less power than the Cooper S MINI

Sort of but that's a strange comparison. 7.9sec 0-60mph is plenty fast enough for those who aren't fussed about performance but don't want to feel underpowered compared to the majority of what's on the road.
romeospadre15/09/2019 19:52

No but they still sound agricultural. If you're not worried about diesel gate the 20d engine still offers a good mix of performance and economy.

BMW still prefer to push owners towards using their own idrive system rather than carplay or android auto. They claim it's because they have control over it and can take responsibility for providing the best experience and to be fair idrive is the best system offered imo. It does look cheap that they won't offer continuous free access to the iOS or Android solutions as well though.
holy duck, a lot of options of this car, not at all fan of this 'brand' but still who will own this one, still struggling to make a proper parking, just saying!

a lot of brand new cars, with lots of extras and cameras and still people don't know how to handle them! they still drive with 20 mile in a 50 mile area, they still drive on highway with 60 mile on speed band...come on , just bored about this, only for 'e-pemmis'
all2humanuk14/09/2019 10:20

But you have a hatch for your skis right? That's very convenient

Nope, that must have been optional!

Why is it a strange comment? Both have the B48 engine (or a variant there of)

My older 5 saloon had them but they were an option!
Great car, wrong engine. It's very heavy and needs 250bhp to be enjoyable.
Get those awful Oakley Sunglasses on boys! Daddies driving home

daamn... those extras
Sexy car. Would go for 530+ though. And yes it does have indicators

Exactly. This reason alone is why BMW is on my "no buy" list whenever I replace my car.

I have kept cars purchased new for 10 years. A few people do. Lots of old people who drive 2k a year also do. 10 years is 20k. Like a 2 year old car! My mother's is 15 years old and not serviced for 5 years. 5 years use is less than 10k for her. Always passes MOT.

Not with this engine. Everyone will be waving as they fly past and you are sat there in a heavy as hell and seriously underpowered Beamer .

Spot on. My thoughts exactly... you can get the Car play coded for very little money, not a chance I would pay a subscription to use my own hardware.
