This looks really good, tempting
This or the g5 AMD combo version posted a few days ago for £1034?
As some people have mentioned on that YouTube review for the g5, looks like the rear vents would actually blow warm/hot air onto the bottom of the display?
If anyone has some input on this, it would be nice.
Aesthetics does matter, but it's not the main factor, at least for me.

I'm stuck with the same dilema, was about to hit buy on the AMD version
Worth noting that this 144hz, ideally should be in the description

Thanks, added. I'd forgotten!
How does this stack up against the specs leaked for the new hp omen?
Come on they can get below £1000, others have.

I've got the G3 3590 (9750h, 1660ti) which looks to have a very similar cooling setup, and the design of the screen and the vents is indeed a bit strange. The hot air is able to escape under the edge of the screen, but some does end up heating the bottom of the screen and rising up above it. It's a hot running machine, but hard to tell how well the refreshed models will do because it's possible they've tweaked the fan profiles and TIM.
Theres £50 difference between g3 and g5 what is the actual difference

Having the exact same dilemma here. I've got the G5 in my basket, ready to go just having clicked buy yet.

Anyone with a bit more experience of these things know if better can be found than the G5 15 AMD for £1034?

The thing that threw it for me is that AMD can’t support ThunderBolt 3 - it’s only on Intel. It won’t necessarily affect everyone but it’s worth noting.

The finish on the AMD version is also fairly horrible in too (in my opinion!) it’s like some sort of mystical pearlescent white colour. Not my taste!

That did look nice. I want to stick out to see if there's more choice. The dream would be a GTX 2060 (for DLSS) and a physical touchpad buttons (preferance for some apps), with good display and thermals. Most likely I'll have to compromise at some point

And also the fact it’s 8gb ram / 256gb ssd and a 120hz screen...

(The RAM is also only 2666MHz too)

How is that likely to compete at this price range? Is it just going to be the same CPU paired with a 2070?

This video helped me settle on the Ryzen G5 from Dell. Ignoring the quality loss from YouTube it's super smooth and temperatures in the 70s for CPU most of the time

(As in the Ryzen 4800h CPU and RX5600M GPU)

My concern with the RTX2060 laptops is almost all the ones I've looked at have insane temperatures under load (the Asus TUF went into the 90s quite often)
I procrastinated for so long the delivery date slipped from 6th to 22nd June

Price will be a way higher for sure but then your getting a quality IPS screen and other stuff too, specs will be similar though

Just had the same thing! I think I'll hold off now, see if something else comes up in the mean time.
Having already been trounced by the Ryzen Dell laptop, which is about £300 cheaper, is there really any reason to buy this?

Thats because Intel cant handle fast memory properly.
It might also be noted that the AMD Dell uses the proprietary Smartshift tech....superior to I tel
