This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

You need to add the voucher code 'BLACK15'. The laptop also comes with a 128GB SSD and 1TB hard drive. You can add a fingerprint reader and change the colour to alpine white for free. I am not sure what Dell are doing, considering they are offering a similar laptop but with i5, GTX 1050 and worse screen for the same price. Anyway, the code expires on 14th July but even without it £800 for such a laptop is still insane.

To change the boot nvme:

First go into the bios (F2) and change the sata setting to ahci:
System Configuration - SATA Operation - AHCI

Then take the back off, the top screws don't come out once unscrewed only the side and bottom ones.

Then unscrew the heatsink and that will slide off.

The stock boot drive will pop up at a angle just softly pull that out, the replacement drive goes back in at the same angle.

Slide the metal thing to the right that it was screwed into then rotate it and move it over to the left for the longer nvme drive to screw into.

Will this run fortnite?

Should be fine if you don't play it more than once a week...sorry couldn't resist.

I don't actually know but an initial google suggests it would be fine.
Amazing price, I've ordered using the student discount which is 1% better at 16% off rather than 15%.Thanks OP

Scorchio
Is there an equivalent 13" version? Scorching hot!
Dont need one but so cheap I'm tempted.
Great price for the specs, wish it was 17 inches!
Cracking price. NVME Drive with a 1TB 2nd drive. 8GB Ram is decent. 9750H is a beast. 1650 will be perfectly fine at 1080. All round cracking price.
Just used with AMEX offer, thanks a lot.
whats the amex offer?
many thanks!

What length warranty do Dell offer on this please?

All that power but can it actually handle it.
The last 2 high spec laptops I got from Dell ran like a dog when under load.
Wow, that's a really good offer. Wish I could afford one. Definite heat 🔥
would upgrading the ram void the warranty?!

Thanks a lot, just bought one.

I’m not too clued up with hardware but I’ve been in the market for a new “gaming” laptop for a while and this seems like the best value by quite a bit.

Are there any disadvantages? (Is 8GB RAM quite low?)

It's fine for what you need for games but would be worth upgrading. You'll need to by 2x 8gb 2666mhz sodimms to replace the 2x 4gb sticks that come with it.

Definitely a good deal, I have the last gen model. Unfortunately for me the new model is looking too 'gamer like' for me. Hopefully the fan management on the new model is improved.

Can't view the links here as they are ad and pi hole blocked. But does this have backlit keyboard?
I bought a gaming laptop last year but hardly played games on it. What would you guys Suggest for a laptop to watch YouTube on in bed. Hence backlit keyboard requirement. So light with excellent battery life. Gaming laptop usually have awful battery life. So this probably isn't for me.

So kind of like a Chromebook but must run Windows OS due to software I use on it occasionally.

I'm completely out of the loop with gaming, but wouldn't you get a better spec for less with a desktop?

There is fundamentally no reason to compare a desktop to a laptop, on any given level. A laptop is portable, a desktop is (practically) not.

Fantastic deal. If I hadn’t of nabbed that last acer predator deal I’d be all over this. Really bloody good deal.

Hi,
Could anyone give me their opinion in comparison to this laptop:
dell.com/en-…ons

The Inspiron 5000 14" has got the last gen processor (i7-8565U), 16GB RAM, the graphics card isn't good but I'm not interested in one at all as I don't game, storage is the same. I think the Inspiron has a 220 nits monitor and the G3 a 300 nits, both seem to have not great sRGB coverage, which isn't ideal as I do some photo editing, but might by a separate monitor anyway.

It's just the fact the Inspiron has 16GB RAM and is 14" that is most appealing to me. Will 220 nits be bright enough? Tbh I'm not sure why you want a brighter screen having never owned a laptop before! Is there anything else I'm missing comparing them?

Thank you!

Maybe that's where I'm going wrong then. I can't imagine actually playing comfortably on the laptop, but I guess as a computer you can transport around and hook into other peripherals it makes sense.
The quality of compact Dell notebooks has dropped in recent years. My Precision 5530 with a Xeon E-2176M is buggy, overheats and has a lot of problems with the Thunderbolt connector when connecting to docking stations. The same issue affects other Dell laptops of this grade.

Again, lots of different variables involved. If you genuinely considering this for example you need to prioritise your priorities. Is portability essential? Or are you happy just gaming at home? The only reason for a gaming laptop versus a desktop is literally portability. Of you are on move alot or away for extended periods then sure, if not a desktop will be the better option.
Great deal, thank you
Can anyone who has ordered this confirm that it has the i7-9750H processor for £799? I’m a little confused by the website but when I check the configurations I am seeing £1099. I think the i5-9300H is £799. Am I wrong?

I couldn't find this deal at all by going on the Dell website and looking under G3 15", so I'm not sure how they found it, but it appears to work fine going via the link at the top of the page.
Any1 got picture of this laptop?

I just searched G3 and yes I see this deal however further down the page is the G3 with the lower processor. This is why I wondered if anyone who has ordered has received confirmation of the order and can actually confirm the processor. I’m so confused.com.

I have read reports that the build quality is not brilliant. I’m not really after a gaming laptop but the spec is good if it has the i7 processor.

I’ve been looking at Lenovo but there is nothing comparable for this price.
This is crazy for the money

And with the AMEX offer its almost MISPRICE territory.

I've ordered and got confirmation it is the model as described by OP, according to my email receipt.
