Well Its brand new so I have no experiance of it but it has a hdmi port which is a plus and is priced nice with the voucher, the 1330's seem to sell well and this is almost a copy but larger.

Some of the upgrades are not too expensive either, but do add up if you let yourself get carried away ;-)

Quite a premium for that hdmi and biometric

I cannot over emphasise how little you can view on a screen resolution of 1200x800 which this is and would suggest you use a pc/laptop at this res before buying

Why the cold rating? It seems to me that it's an excellent deal. Do the people who voted it cold know something I don't know? Can they get it cheaper elsewhere?
Please tell me!!!

Seems there is an anti Dell brigade that vots them all cold if they dont have a 2Ghz cpu and 2 gig of ram for less than £400.

On my almost 4-year old sony laptop that I'm using right now I am getting 1400 x 1050 resolution on a 14-inch screen, so if this dell is 1280 x 800 (wrongly stated 1200 x 800 by schizoboy), I find that rather disappointing.

this is a **** deal, why pay 600quid plus for a laptop that's supposedly for gaming when it has a 1.5ghz processor??

Without listing the spec again, I think people are missing the point...it is an XPS model, Portable Powerhouse...rather like you can get a cheap sony or expensive sony, you can buy an ordinary dell or an XPS, yeah you may want to upgrade the graphics to GT spec (£40), but this is a good deal for an XPS model, not a Tesco special with integrated graphics, built for volume and down to a price....take a good look at the full spec...oh and personally I would go for the red at no extra cost!...personally I am still looking for a great deal on an inspiron 1720 with gt graphics!!
Well spotted mike

To be honest this isnt a gaming laptop, but more of a slim light one with medium performance. The XP3 M1730 is a gaming laptop with the 8700 GT.
