This weeks offering from "our M&S" has increased in price to £12 but as it includes Prosecco (which at the moment I think is on offer at £9/bottle) I will forgive them! Also looks like they have not put all options online as they state

Think there will be as they state "Vegetarian and Made Without Wheat …Think there will be as they state "Vegetarian and Made Without Wheat options available (V) - see in store for details" but do think that they could list what options may be available .

Sorry, I should really learn how to read things in detail rather than jumping to conclusions!

Dear Moderator, could I request an undo button for the cold button?!

Apologies O.P
Is this a sneaky way to introduce a price hike by including Prosecco. I hope this isn't going to be the new price going forward.

Cold from me I'm afraid. No sign of a veggie option.

No problem - My first reaction when I saw the deal was the so and so's have increased the price - then I read it again and reallised it included Prosecco which is more expensive! We all do it - thanks for apology though!
I don't like prosecco, so I do hope the other wine have seen a similar uplift as many of them were uninspiring plonk.
Food choice is a bit limited and meh (IMO).
Hoping in store has a better selection.

Heat for the heads up

Hmm don't like prosecco, guess I'm in the minority. I was going to keep it though and give it as a gift to someone but the menu choice isn't very good either, oh well maybe next time there will be more for me. I can see it would be very appealing to a lot though so heat for you scoffer
Price hike and poor selections. Cold for me
Not a great slection of amins
Cava is far better 'fizz' than prosecco - and much cheaper as it isn't 'trendy'

Uninspiring's an understatement. Dreadful's more like it, and not even good value when it's "free".
I do not comment usually, but have to say I prefer Iceland's choice of meals, they work out a bit more and no wine but hey that's my view.

With the meal deal I think you will find that many do.

Even better at £8 if you have the use of a staff discount card.

Can't say I'm too thrilled about this. Not much to choose from is there? Also no fish option as a main?

I'm hopeful in store has a much better selection but I wouldn't hold my breath. Also the regulars have all the decent wine bought day 1 and it's never replenished in my local one. Kx
Check your Sparks card I have a bonus of £2 on a £15 spend.
Hey guys would you be able to get this from an M&S food shop at BP CAUSE potentially you will get 10p off a litre too ?

Agreed, the selection on this is pretty poor and nothing like what you normally get. Hopefully this is just a one off, which I'll be giving a swerve. Cold for me.

Depends how big the store is. The nearest BP M&S food shop to me has never done the meal deal.

I read your comments and you really have a nice way about looking at things ! Heat for your attitude and replies to comments !
BP is only a franchise outlet and like all the franchise's charge 20% more than m&s regular store's
Ask in store what the veggie and made without options are. They will work if you take 2 of the portions on most lines. So you get 4*veggie Kiev's for example

Just to update - My super Mrs visited Knaresborough M&S today (our nearest one), there were no options other than meat.

Quite disappointing really.

We are amazed that Vegetarians and people with certain food intolerances, are being completely ignored by M&S. It is very puzzling indeed!
M+S prosecco is foul, dont let them get away with charging £12 as that will soon become the norm, we need this to flop so it stays £10

In my local there were no veggie mains in the Dine-In section but a little sign saying that vegetarian and free from options are available in the aisles. So I checked the veggie aisle and some of the veggie stuff there was included in the Dine-in-for-£12 offer, if you check the shelf labels. I spotted moussaka, kievs, butternut squash filo parcels (not sure I remember this one correctly (lol)), maybe another dish too? I'll check again next time I'm in.

No worries! Back from my (larger) local one now, they had even more veggie dishes included in the deal there apart from the three I mentioned in my previous comment they also had two different types of "notdogs", macaroni cheese, mushroom en croutes and a couple of other things too that I can't remember because they were out of stock and I only saw the shelf label state that they were included in the offer. So a lot more to choose from now than the usual one or two veggie options they normally have (which to be honest have been really boring in the past)!

I hope it's true what platterfish said in a previous comment, that you get to pick 2 of the veggie dishes? Because the veggie meal deal options in the past were massive and priced at £6-7 but these standard ones are smaller and priced at around £3-4. I did not see any information saying you could pick two though? Then again, they never stated that with the beer in the past either (that you could pick 2 bottles of beer instead of a bottle of wine).

That's interesting, have you tried this? I visited my local Markies today and there was a lot of veggie options to choose from now (which is great!) since a lot of the standard range was included in the offer (rather than the 1-2 choices that were on offer in the past) but the standard dishesd are a lot smaller and cheaper than the ones that were made especially for the dine in offer in the past. I didn't however see any information about being able to pick 2 of the veggie dishes.

So people just come in buy the meal deal on it's own and leave?

Ahhh, I see. We only have two stores 'near' us. They are both quite small so for some reason they seem to get left out.

What we have noticed is that the veggie stuff seems to sell out much quicker than the standard options of meat and fish. A bit daft really.

Hopefully things will change soon!

Yeah same, I have two nearby although none are massive really (but one is a foodhall so it has more choice than the smaller one). I noticed the same thing, went to the smaller one yesterday (as I was passing it anyway) to check what veggie options were included but almost all veggie stuff was sold out! Went to the foodhall one today and better stock and choices there, but still quite a few options that were sold out (and not much left of the stuff that was in stock either), so either they're selling well or they don't put out enough stock. Will probably head back there at some point this weekend and hope they have more of the veggie dishes in stock and I'll pick something up for a nice weekend treat.

M&S just testing the water to see how many mugs will pay the extra money for less choice and cheaper options. (No steak, sea bass etc)

Del boy would dismiss prosecco as a yuppies drink

vote with with your feet and they will revert back to the £10 good value menu

M&S is now full of cheap tat.
I wish that they would up their standards and leave the tat behind.

Sorry Sonny but I have to disagree with you - maybe people don't shop in M&S to save money.
They just don't shop in M&S full stop!

M&S hierarchy just take no notice of their customers and then wonder why customers are leaving them in droves. I wouldn't be surprised to see it gone in 10 years.
No vege main, dissapointing!

Lots of vegetarian mains that are included in the Dine In offer can be found in the vegetarian aisle, more information in some of the previous comments in this thread.
