NEW Disaronno Special Edition £12 in store at Sainsburys

I just bought this as a birthday gift but thought it would make a great Christmas present too. The packaging is gorgeous - looks designer and expensive. Great alternative to giving a bottle of wine.

Reduced down from £15

What size bottle is it?
I know you said the deal was in store - but I can't even find reference to any special edition bottles online anywhere.
Cheers!

Online it looks like its the 50cl which is £12 can't see the special edition online though so it might not be.

Yes I know - I tried to find the Sainsbury's link but couldn't find it online. There is a description online saying coming to Tescos and Sainsbury's at £15. All I know is that it was on offer at £12. Will try find more information for people. The bottle is 500ml

There is a bit about it here:

Think it only came out in the shops here this month

Waitrose and asda also have similar offers on disarrano at the moment. 50cl £12 70cl £13-£15 so may not be worth driving around looking as not much in it

Great! It's so nice and looks good too!

Better off getting the 700ml from Tesco for £15

I'll stick to the 70cl Aldi version for £6.49. Not as good obviously but still worth it.

700ml costco/makro for ~£13 usually.

Aye, it's worth the extra £1.80 per 700ml because the bottle is going to make it taste so much better and it'll look the mutts nuts in the recycling bin.

What about if you're buying it as a gift?

That is true - this will look so much better as a gift

If you're just buying this to drink yourself then go to aldi & buy their own amaretto for £4.99,but as the OP has said if your looking for this as a gift then you can't beat this price. Have some heat!

Thank you davzzp - that's really the idea here (plus the fact that it is £12 down from £15)

It's this simple, when it comes to alcohol, volume wins hands down over packaging.
Although with Disaronno, I think I'd prefer an empty bottle!!

Sainsburys sell another brand of this and it's actually nicer it's £10.00 and Asda do it for £7

this isnt a very good deal really. For those of you that havent tried it yet but like amaretto, try the aldi one. i think someone above mentioned it.. it really is VERY good and about 6quid i think.... obv as a present to someone it might not be suitable, but that depends.. give it a shot!

I will give the one you mention a try x

Hmm ...
Thanks those of you who say Aldi amaretto is good - I'll have to get some to try.
I like to drink amaretto over ice, but it also makes absolutely gorgeous ice cream, & the Disarrono is a bit expensive for that.

I thought same unti I found out Aldi version is 1/2 the strength is volume than the real diserono.

It actually is a good deal especially coming from someone who has been looking for a uk stockist quite a while who has now found out it is on sale also! Good job! In store only or online too?

This.
About half of the supermarket home brands are half the alcohol volume of Disaronno.
For coffees and cooking you won't notice much of a difference, but for drinking straight or to a degree with a mixer its very noticeable.
Don't get me wrong I've got a a few different supermarket brands in the cupboard, including Aldi and they have a nice flavour, but lack the warm (is that the right word?) of the higher % brands.
