New DJI Mavic Air drone combo with 2 year guarantee £949 @ John Lewis

40
Found 3rd Feb
I know this is normal for John Lewis to do but for those who don’t know, the Mavic Air drone is now in stock and JL offer an additional year guarantee.

If you are to buy this, clearly this is the best place and looking at Amazon its retailing at 989.99 for the black (from a reseller)

Just to be clear, this is the combo (fly more) package with additional batteries etc.

I think the original post was the combo deal, with extra batteries
DigitalRev have this for £866. Might not have the 2 year JL warranty, but their customer service is actually pretty good

That’s true but this item is new and limited availability which is why it gets a mention. Similar to the Mini Snes in stock posts

This is great deal I was considering but wanted the security of another year
Same price everywhere, only difference is 2 year guarantee.
What does the warranty actually cover? Would you get any help from JL for a crash that wasn't pilot error?
The warranty probably covers fault only. I doubt they'd replace the drone if anything happened due to pilot error.

I'd rather purchase DJI refresh. That means DJI will replace the drone no matter what happened to it as long as you can recover the drone that is.
March they will be releasing the Mavic Pro 2

I dont think this is worth the money

If you are currently using a Mavic Pro, definitely hold out.

They were crafty advertsing this as a Mavic Air in line with apple marketing along with making it seem like a new Mavic product when in reality this is more of a Spark upgrade.

100% March they will be releasing this news or making available to buy.

I can’t reveal my sources but he is correct. It will be officially announced March/April
Seen a guy flying one of these a few days ago,the thing was tiny once folded and the range was good, even when flying it from in between buildings with no line of sight.

The guy was using it professionally to film a wedding and he said in his opinion the footage it produced was as good as that of the mavic pro and the drone itself is just as good as the pro for what he uses it for.

That's Dji for you. Original ronin and inspire 1 owner here, was waiting for their announcement of the R2 and I2 as I was due to upgrade, then they showed off their new pricing system. If I'm gonna be spending that much on a piece of kit, I'd at least want reliability, and knowing Dji in the past, that's a fat chance.

The Mavic Pro upgrade that Kyballion and sparklehedgehog have absolutely no extra or inside information about is likely going to be considerably more expensive than this and doesn’t compare. The video quality of the Air is better than the Pro. The Air is good value for its use case.

One of my suppliers for my business is a close family relative to the manafacturers, some leakers online have also mentioned it but I know 100% because I have been friends and business partners for 5 years

He has also sent me photos of the New Xbox Elite controller which will be released in the first quarter from microsoft.

He told me and showed me blueprint diagrams for Mavic air before online leakers had mentioned it.

In fact way before christmas

Its 100% in production as we speak.

I’m not assuming. Assume implies Supposition. I know, for a fact, that neither of you have previously unavailable inside information.

You know one thing for sure, that you don't know nothing.

I am having a bit of a guess here, you probably work a mundane job and or have and am now retired

Either way, not everyone on HUKD needs to create some type of hypernormalization.

It would be too easy for me to edit and upload photos of both the products I mentioned but would rather you believe what you want.

Though I would love to see your face after doing a reverse google image search and realising you in fact are the only person with that photo.

But I dont trust anyone here and dont want my business to become associated with leaks.

I never got anywhere in life listening to or feeding into anyone elses opinion

Let me guess, I dont run a few business's either?

Im unemployed?

Im stupid?

I’ve clearly hit a nerve. You’re bound to project when you’re making stuff up.

You’ve provided zero proof. The classic “but I don’t want to”. You have all this information, you’re allowed to talk about it, but not provide specifics. It’s textbook BS

You clearly have problems with yourself then.

Your traumatic experience here on Earth seems to have dampened any common decency you have.

I don't like people who assume I am lying either.

All the best in your life. Everyone is a liar, a fraud I say!

You win, whatever you believe is correct. Congratulations, this ridiculous debate from absolutely nothing but your disbelief of a comment I made. I feel like my testosterone levels are being violated by this debate so I give in.

Let me guess, even more concrete evidence that I am lying?

Why do you keep projecting? You said something, I said it wasn’t true, you got defensive. I have nothing to prove. You could make me look really foolish by just proving what you’re saying, but you can’t! If your business was truly at risk, you wouldn’t have dared bring it up here. You could have just commented that there’s information in the press. But you wanted to big yourself up and mention your business to make you feel impressive. Just because you’re insecure about your company

I’ll leave you to it. You have a business that deals with DJI, so you must be doing well. If I was in that position, I wouldn’t have the time or inclination to deal with this type of thing on a message board. I wonder why you do.

I am not defensive about it at all, I found it curious to why anyone would lie about this. I was actually trying to share knowledge about the business I am in.

-Firstly, there is zero information here to relate me to my business.
-I never once said said I have business deals with DJI (though I run a small eBay store that absolutely kills it on sales, this is more of a side hobby selling some spare DJI parts, I am talking 8k a month turnover)
-You realize you are talking to someone who started a business with £50 and absolutely no support from anyone? I consider myself a bit of a genius.
-You are not in this position and if you ever were, you will understand that time is money and how to make money work for you.
- I do not and have never once said, I have business deals with DJI!

I have a lot of spare time, it's a little thing called leverage.

As I have mentioned, I simply can't share the photos sent with anyone online. I know that my supplier has a handful of people he trusts. I do not in any way, shape or form want to be known by my supplier as a leak source and for good reason. So please stop trying to make it seem so black and white.

I could provide these photos to a third party and they release them for me. But again I do not want any possibility of me being associated to links.

You understand that an ordinary factory worker on a basic wage could loose their job and income if they are found to be leak source?

I made a comment
You accused me of lying and claimed superstition
Then when one questions your intention, you tell them they are projecting.

I used to be a bit salty working for a dead end job too, so I kind of see it for what it is
Well I came here to read about drones, instead I ended up reading an internet argument between what I can only presume to be two grown a$$ adult humans.

I wish I could sue you two for wasting a few minutes of my life over what has to be one of the most pathetic arguments I have had the mispleasure of reading on HUKD.

Back on topic though can anyone comment on the real life range of these things.

The forums seem to say that it is dire.

The ‘influencers’ seem to say it is the greatest drone ever made, however I have to question their impartiality.
