Not a bad price at all given that it comes with a mattress

looks like a good deal:thumbsup:

Dear me!! the same bed with a slightly better mattress is £345!!:?

I'd never buy a bed from Argos again.

Awful construction.

Dont come with supports for the slats (just go to a bed shop to see what I mean - they tend to have 4-5 extra supports built into the base to evenly distribute the weight)

Argos beds dont - as you can see in the picture - and tend not to last.

New England stuff is usually pretty good im afraid, i used to work in a pine specialists place and we delivered loads of beds etc and made them up

This bed looks really good but i wish i knew what mattress came with it

I'd have to agree with the slat part of this...i havent got an Argos bed but one that came from a catalogue (same make though) and it looks pretty similar to this....Lovely bed (lookswise!) but there werent enough slats and No supports for said slats.....luckily i have a Very handy partner who used to be a carpenter and he put loads of reinforcements under the slats so now its rock solid - if u can spare a little while and effort to do this then bed is a Bargain!

To help you imagine just how weak the slats were originally, my 18 month old jumped on bed twice and 2 of the slats clean broke! And he was an early baby so pretty light for his age.........lol - naughty boy but at least it wasnt me.....i really would have had a weight complex if i had rolled over in night and fallen straight onto floor :x

Chocolate double bed hey ...............:whistling:

If you have a look in the argos catalogue their is a page on their that tells you what all the package deal mattresses actually are. Ive searched the website and couldnt find the buying guide for what im on about.

I got my bed and memory foam mattress from argos.

argos.co.uk/sta…htm

Its really good I think i paid £300 for it altogether.

I would recommend anyone who is buying a bed from arogs to definately get the more expensive mattress. Its worth the extra cash.

I wouldn't dare order another bed off Argos, they wrote my car off pulling up in the delivery lorry last time.

Any idea how long this will be available for? I don't get paid till Wednesday...

It looks a bit gross to me ,im after style and this just is not it , im sure other will like it though so not voted either way

this mattress is probably the worst matress in the world. got one a few month ago with a similar deal.

you can tell because if you just buy the frame its £140

I Recomend a Memory Mattress wherever you plan to buy it, unless you want to feel the springs pop into your back as soon as you lay down with the sprung mattress then that is your choise =)

With the 'Memory Mattress' your body weight sinks into it and feels lovely! i myself regreat buying a bed with a single sided drawer from argos abouts 2month's ago as all th support was based on the non drawer side and there was no middle support on the drawer site, very bad construction, the corners have already split and i was forced to glue it with special wood glue =s

Make sure you get insuerence, hopefully my model will be gone by the time it breaks down and i can get something more stable!

speaking of my model being discontinued, i think it already has been! woot woot =D i'm going to go break my bed lol

This bed looks steady. The one I got from Argos a year ago was however poorly made...a side of the bed actually cracked. But that was the cheapest bed available. This bed used to be £300 so it looks good. But just be aware about the mattress. The sprung mattress I got along with the bed I purchased last year is extremely uncomfortable. I can feel the spring sticking up into my back...bought a mattress protector thinking it would solve the problem. But nope, finally dug into my pockets to get a new mattress in the end.

We bought a king size divan bed from argos 4 years ago and it is still going strong. But because it is a divan the base is not an issue:thumbsup:

Argos beds I will not want to trust in a million years but made the deal hot for the following reasons

Great price, espacially with a mattress
New England beds generally are pretty good and more expensive

The cheap mattresses that come with Argo's beds are useless. Frames aren't much better either...

Cold Cold Cold!!!!
Only Double - and the mattress will be as good as a chocolate fireguard - inkeeping with the chocolate theme!!!

Looks nice to me, and a good find....having been warned about the slats (thanks) it's easy to remedy and no problem.

Heated & Repped.

Nice.

sprung mattresses are rubbish

Most of the expensive mattresses are sprung mattresses . But, like most things,
buy a cheap one and you'll probably think it's rubbish.

Anyone knows if we can just buy the bed without the mattress??

No not from Argos I don't think.

I have a question though, does anyone know if you need any tools to assemble this together?
