Fighting for a refund, Charge 2 won't connect to anything, Fitbit are refusing to fix it and Argos won't take it back cos, as the cashier said, 'we have so many returns of these I can't accept any more'I'm sure other people love theirs, but I am far from the only one with this problem.Great tech but only has a 6-12 month shelf life for many people, and the customer service is appalling.

I've had nothing but great customer service from them. My charge 2 is about 18 months and I scratched the screen by accident causing a crack. They issued me a new one, without even charging me which I was shocked at.

No GPS is a bad move. Reasons cited (design, cost etc) are rubbish. The Garmin Vivosport manages it in a compact size. Was holding on for the Charge 3 but this omission combined with so much anecdotal evidence of crappy build quality has put me off for a long time.

What I also meant to say is feels like a cynical strategy to force consumers to buy Ionic.
Does the new one still send notifications of text messages and calls etc

Had a very similar response too; my wife cracked her screen so asked how we got it repaired; they replaced the entire watch for free outside of warranty. They also helped resolve a minor software glitch / issue. Very happy with their customer service to date.

I have always loved FitBit, but I am now holding off to see what the new iWatch may bring.

I also had an issue with the software. It was double counting steps. So they sent me a replacement. Same issue.
Turns out, it was syncing it's own steps and those from Strava so double counting. I removed Strava.

Told Fitbit, and they said keep it.

They also replaced the wifes Alta when it had a weird glitch that auto corrected.

Sounds like Argos are the problem not Fitbit. Argos are in breach of consumer law if goods not lasting long enough and suspect some persistence in advising them of their contractual obligations would have yielded better results (ie they are trying it on with less clued up consumers and need a slap)!

Google Money Saving Expert SADFART for your rights. Currys recently tried it on after our Panasonic microwave died after 2 years. Not worth repairing and technician advised should last at least 5 years. Read Currys the riot act and got a partial refund based on time microwave had lasted vs expected minimum life span (ie. about 2/3s of value). Honestly they are trained to BS customers. As soon as you quote consumer law they back down and play ball.

Read a good review of the FitBit Charge 3 yesterday here.

Hmmmm... seems quite a good, but not major, upgrade to the charge 2. Real shame that Fitbit pay (like Google pay / wallet) has such a small UK bank coverage.
Either way, as someone else stated, this is the RRP, so not really much of a deal!
I see this has been advertised with the spO2 sensor... Even though it is not active and there is currently no time frame when it will be.

I had a sync issue with my charge hr. Turned out it was actually because I had synced the device to an old phone first. If you have the account details you're supposed to remove the device then re-pair. This didn't really work for me, so I did a factory reset by holding the button in mad unexpected sequences which solved the issue. Fitbit support had no idea what the problem was, all they did was send crap troubleshooting links over a twitter conversation. Your issue might be a genuine fault, but give that a go. I felt like fitbit support were deliberately untrained to offer this advice.

FB'ed Fitbit and they've offered me a free replacement, now just dilly dallying over whether to take it or go to Argos and fight for 90 quid back!
Didn't they offer you 50% off another one - ie the 3?

They won’t give the discount on the 3 or any ‘pre-order’ one and once you click the link you can’t undo it!
Could you not get a replacement and sell it and put it towards the 3?

I sold my Charge 2 on eBay for £73 so I'd take that route if you want a cheaper Charge 3 rather than dealing with the whims of Fitbit's discounts. Not everyone knows a Charge 3 is out 1st October so you'll get a good price :P

I may go for a Versa instead the colour screen looks great and it looks more like a standard watch rather than a fitness band.
