I just sold my older ST, this is a great deal on a new one

Not sure how ex demo / managers fords are priced at present, but we've bought from Ford Direct for our last two - not brand new, but for a 6 month old car with a couple of thousand on the clock it's worked out to a saving of about 40% against list price (you may have to wait for the right car to come along though). They tend to be highly specced as well.

As seen in comment #1 in this thread, the (new) ST3 does now seem to offer seating for three in the rear (rather than just two as was previously the case & as mentioned in the STDrivers.co.uk forum thread).

Now available with 10-inch-wide front and 13-inch-wide rear wheels for better traction, the Mustang wide-body kit will cost you an extra $14,995, whether you have the 'standard' 653bhp 5.4-litre supercharged V8 engined Super Snake or uprated 838bhp model.

Dropping the rs to pick a st2 up on the 1st march but these are good prices nice find op

Ford and Vauxhall - worst cars driven by me. Nearly all models of these makes driven as company cars and they are thirsty on petrol and breaks down frequently, not a big worry as company fixes and fills fuel, but for personal use-no no for me.
Drivethedeal.com has around £6000 discount on Fords RRP on Focus'es.

What a load of tosh, if you look at the JD Power surveys and any leading data on reliability you will find Ford above Volkswagen etc. while Ford have made great effort to improve there cars standing alot of what people consider the Premium Manufactures have been sliding down the scale eg Audi, Volkswagen,BMW, Mercedes. While Ford could improve on fuel consumption they offer a very good product.

I assume when you say RS, you do mean Focus RS mk2? (Going on your avatar photo..)

Why the change? Have you liked the RS (what are your thoughts on it) and is this not a step down for you?

Why no 3 door!!! I dont have kids, and friends who moan about MY car not having rear doors just for them can jog on... so if im in the market for a sporty hothatch why in the world would I want an ugly (in comparision to 3dr hothatches) family friendly 5 door, Ford really missed a large market not producing a 3dr version methinks (maybe they are going the same path as BMW with its 3 series being 5 door and estate and new 4 series being the coupe)?

That being said - I did sit in one at Goodwood and it does have a premium feel to it (it was highly spec so assume ST3) and sounded pretty beefy for a 4 cylinder engine, 250bhp is nice amount for front wheel drive car but im sure Mountune will enevitably offer a warranty approved / unaffected modification to provide closer to 300bhp soon, and figures closer to sub 6 sec 0-60 for those who put that stat above what the car is actually like to drive.

I agree with Clarkson

Waiting for the Fiesta ST myself for when that comes out then going to see what I like better this or the Fiesta. I've already owned an older shape Focus ST-3 but quite fancy one of these new ones hmmmm.... Heat some heat!

It doesn't look very nice, like a trout face.

Might be a step down but i need another door for the little one the mk2 rs is nice to drive but it is not practical for everyday use.

Good deal for a new car....

....but anyone (who isn't a millionnaire) who buys a new car needs their head testing. Will lose 30% of it's value once you drive off the forecourt. The most expensive 10 metres you'll ever drive.

Get a next to new car for a lot less.

I wonder if the shelby focus was inspired by a Jeans edition beetle?

You'll need all the savings you can get just to afford the first monthly installment for the insurance (if you can actually get a quote)

Another HOT one

20 of your 30% is saved on this deal anyway. Used v New is always a matter of opinion, people know what they are doing. You saying a used car is cheaper is like saying fire is hot.

People don't always know what they are doing. Even intelligent people don't always have common sense.

10% of £20k is still a lot of money in most peoples' book. Of course it's obvious a used car is cheaper than new, but it's the propotion which a new car loses value instantly that some people won't realise. If you have a wad to throw away just so you can say you've got a brand new car, then good luck to you. In my opinion, unless you're rolling in it, it's stupid.

Got to love people trashing other peoples threads, if you find a better deal for a NEW focus, please post it, otherwise **** off

If no one bought a new car then there would be no second hand cars for the cheapskates, SIMPLES.

Haha, someone's tetchy! Last time I looked, this was an open forum, so I'll post what I want thanks.

If you'll read my first post, I said this was a good deal on a NEW focus. I was just saying that buying a new car is stupid IMO. But the deal itself a good one.

But thanks for your kind word.

I can't agree more the fords from top to bottom now in the range are superb, I'm not keen on the vauxhall range never will be clarkson didn't really rate the st on top gear on Sunday, I'm still undecided about It I loved my old st especially with the dream science running the race + plan but I'm still not sure about the new shape I prefer the old one personally

The new mondeo looks sublime and should be out in the next 3 months

Not out till 2014 now due to low sales of large cars in Europe at present some other manufactures are also delaying new product dates this year.

That is stunning!

These cars are no good it you are 6FT +, no leg room at all.

I always think there's a lot of jealously on these car threads..... from those that cant afford new cars and those that cant afford cars of this spec.
People who buy new cars and cars like this, can afford them and afford to run them. They can afford the depreciation and they dont care about it.

Not jealous at all. Just voicing my opinion, and if it helps save someone a bit of money, then it's worth it.

The sad thing is, people who buy new cars often can't afford them. They buy them on finance plans or lease schemes where they end up having to pay a big lump some in a few years or the car gets taken back, leaving them with nothing. Or take out loans which they can't really afford.

The people who are so defensive of buying new cars are usually those that have bought from new themselves and are trying to justify it to everyone. Even though, to the regular person, it makes absolutely no financial sense.

If people feel so strongly about it, that's fine. All I'm doing is expressing my opinion.

Plus it means there are more 'nearly new' cars around for me to buy at cheaper prices. Thanks.

I didn't know that do you have a link mate ?

i love the way Fords are starting to look like Aston Martins now.

Looking like an Aston cannot be a bad thing!!!!

I know its a lower level, but my Mrs has just bought a Focus Zetec S with the full S kit fitted. (bit of a girl racer). Bloody lovely car and cannot fault it. Im into bikes myself, but if i ever dropped 2 wheels for four, i wouldnt hesitate on a Ford.
