Terrible product unresponsive slow frustrating very annoying stay away from this cheap rubbish for this money I recommend prestigio .

OK for kids that's about all but hear for cheap chrimbo pressie

If a graded product don't ever, ever waste your money on this brand or company as I dealt with both in the last year and ended up with a highly upset daughter after buying a graded Gemini from box.co.uk for her for last xmas. Both a total pile of crap that I will never deal with again.

The graded Gemini tabs with box.co.uk strangely are NOT warranty (only 6 months on there graded Gemini tabs) covered on the batteries at all. In fact box.co.uk says they won't offer any assurances on the batteries in the Gemini tabs and for a reason it seems. Google Gemini tablets and failing batteries and failing charges and you will see that's the biggest and single main problem with this brand and reason for manufacturer sold returns. And so your unlikely to ever get a graded Gemini tab that properly works as it will have already been returned due to problems or having failed at the quality control stage.

Box.co.uk are almost certainly fully aware of this as otherwise why would they make a point of not offering any assurances on the batteries in these graded Gemini tabs?. We had 3 tabs off box.co.uk and each of them failed and despite requests for the replacement to be fully tested for the same fault or to refund the money they only ever sent a replacement out totally untested.

Don't waste your time or money with either.

Lol Dave, The tablet above is NEW, not graded.

...and you will find many retailers who sell Graded products will not guarantee the life of the battery in electrical products, Tesco and Argos on ebay dont!

But! it doesn't apply to this tablet anyway.

I never said this item itself was but that "if" a graded tablet. But hay, perhaps there are so many issues with returns and problems with this particular model that Gemini are having to sell heavily problematic models to any retailer willing to take them off there hands at any price they can get for them. If really brand new or more factory new from batches with major failings with returned models and quality control failures then it explains the heavily discounted asking price.

All brands have their faults, even expensive brands like apple (iPad) etc.

Genimi are based in the UK, have a read HERE! not sure if it will help...

Don't bother with Gemini, poorly specced, poorly built and unreliable. Even Archos are better.

Would this be any good mainly for Skype use? need to get my granny something.

ouch... for the "even archos is better" comment. .. nice one mate!

Can't fault the price for the spec, so heat from me for the deal - thanks for posting. I'll not bother because I now have 5 Hudl - still available @ £59 as a refurb!

As a tablet, pretty crap for me.
As a deal pretty hot.
Nice find op. Thanks, have some heat

I worry slightly about the dc charger mentioned. It suggests it charges using a custom plug socket not the micro usb. Meaning you will have to lug around an extra charger just for this and if you loose it you will have to find out where to get another one.

My uncle bought a 7 inch version of this and while it was ok and cheap it has a custom 30pin charging socket so if he forgets its charger he is stuck and if he loses it he is done for as they don't appear to exist except when sold with a tablet...

This is the charger HERE!

This is a USB charging cable HERE!

The single adapter is about a 1.3mm size.

Well done that is reassuring if you lose it. Still I do prefer all my stuff to charge by micro usb. Its just easier these days.

Now if you could just spot a 30 pin charger for a gem7032g ...

Does this come with a free time machine to take you to 2011? when this spec would've been top of the range.. Dont bother wasting your money on something you'll only replace in 6 months when you realise it's utterly useless and way or if date already.. Hudl2 or Tab4 are more expensive but far far better value and easy more reliable..
Why people keep posting effectively a generic unbranded tablet just cos it's cheap is beyond me!

this should be a dead deal, I don't see anything special at all in this, minimum 2GB of ram then I would say yeah maybe it would be a better deal, allow having this type of tablet and not being able to do much and freezing screen and slow processor is a joke of 2014 !
COLD

Ideal for ruining a loved ones Christmas!

Chinese junk with Chinese chip and a SDK of amateur hackery to bring you a non GMS certified rickshaw resembling POS.

SPEND a few quid more for a brand that will last and save someone the pain of one of these at Christmas. if you can't afford more than 40 either save for longer or walk away.

UK company with zero ODM enforcing / designing capability using one of thousands of Shenzhen junk shops to turn out junk products with equally junk builds of android.

RMA rates on this category of tablet run at about 30%, the perception on the 70% balance is that people give up with them or are naive to what the devices capability should be in terms of comparison with a similarly sleeved Taiwanese or Korean device at a higher retail price.

the bottom fell out of this Chinese chip junk last year as soon as Lenovo, HP, Tesco etc for Rockchip headed in the right direction and Allwinner et al became even more insular and Chinese. The junk generally now remains in China and the only remains you find are aging relics like this.

thanks

aLV246, where can i get those hudl's for 59 pound?

Might be a UK brand and UK company but they are still cheap unreliable Chinese manufactured re-brands like hundreds of other re-brands and re-badged similar or identical tablets on the likes of dx that are useless and would ruin a childs xmas as said.

While ostensibly £40 is a bargain for a tablet, £59 for a hudl, or even £69 for gigaset QV80 if 4:3 is a want, represents better value if you can stretch to them.

I had the misfortune of buying a Gemini Tablet. The gem1000
Very unresponsive and slow. Plus the app's just disappear and come up as uninstalled on the tablet!
I don't know if this will have the same issues, but i would be wary of purchasing one.

may be crap but its cheap as long as you dont use it this product will be great

The Tesco supermarket troublesome Hudl has just as many problems, you are also paying twice the price for the honor £79.99

What's the deal with you and Gemini?
Are you sleeping with each other?

Lol just been reading the feedback on other posted Gemini deals, has any other tablet brand ever had such negative feedback?.

Is the op's opinion that the problems are expected and justified based on the price alone and so its a deal based on price regardless of reliability issues with the brand as a whole?.

But pretty such even the mentioned Tesco hudl tabs (even if twice the price, but twice the spec and storage, memory etc) are not made in the same factories and that Tesco has actual quality control polices over the hudl and the components that go into the hudl. Besides having used and seen the hudl and having owned a gemini and seen other gemini tablets, to compare gemini to hudl is like comparing the hudl to say the Samsung tab pro.

Anyone who buys this is a fool, you get what pay for, actually spend some money, although I know most on this site are allergic to that, and get a decent tablet.

Utter junk, as the reviews show.

Gemini tablets are not the same as the unbranded low end units that come out of China made in small under-the-radar factories, those units can never be sold here in the UK in high street shops as no correct EU backing, CE safety regulations etc etc...

Gemini, Elonex and Linx brands are all UK base companies who have a partnership with reputably electronics manufactures over in China etc, Tesco have the very same partnership with Wistron regarding the Hudl.

To cut a long story short... These manufactures along with the company brand need to follow guidelines, EU regulations for the products to be allowed to be sold here in the UK. The backstreet under-the-radar factories you mention who turn-out poor unbranded products are known as the grey import market , this is a totally different ball-game.

Wistron design and manufacture the Tesco Hudl, Wistron designs and manufactures products for other companies to sell under their own brand name, all this is quite normal.

The reputable manufactures that I have mentioned including Gemini invest money on product development, design and future resources.

And yet they still as unreliable as anything. Basically, Gemini is just cheap rebranded Chinese junk. You say it's a UK brand, but its just a rebadge. Yes its only £40, but you may as well just set fire to your money. Better off buying a refurb Hudl, at least it will come with a proper guarantee. And seriously, whats the deal with you and this Gemini crap? Do you own the company or do you work for Box.co.uk?

Better in this case would be a calculator. Or even an Archos.

Excellent stuff for £40. It is only £40 not £400.

Then it needs asking if Gemini is on par with the hudl Dallas seems to like to compare Gemini to (for which the difference in spec makes the brand comparison a joke) why therefore does NO major UK retailer either high street or online either stock or promote the brand?. If quality and reliability is as claimed and on par with hudl, Elonex and Linx then most retailers would carry Gemini as a budget brand. There is a reason national reputable retailers won't stock and sell Gemini as a brand and would sooner launch there own brands or stock slightly more expensive budget brands.

Even the shopping channels don't seem to stock or sell Gemini either and they sure sell some budget tablets. Ok, the odd mail order catalogue companies might stock Gemini but that's about it bar some smaller scale online retailers.

Gemini I gather have be going for some years now and so if they had a reliable product and proper quality control they would have a notable retailer presence and a decent share of the budget tablet market. Do Gemini still think they can be and based on there past a major player in the tablet market by 2015 as claimed on there website lol.
