Giffgaff just introduced a great new £10 goodybag with 100 more minutes than before.

£10 now gives you...

* 250 minutes
* Unlimited texts (Not capped at all like other networks)
* Unlimited web (Not capped at all like other networks)

For people who haven't heard of GiffGaff, they are a wholly owned subsidiary company of O2 and as such run of the same network. So you get the same great network coverage, HSDPA speeds (where available) all for a much lower cost.

Existing members, simply purchase a goodybag.
New members, order a free sim from the deal link, upon arrival activate and then purchase the goodybag.

I should also state that this is not like a contract or simplicity deal. You simply pay £10 and select this goodybag. It lasts for 1 month. If you do not top up after that it will not and can't charge you for another. You will only be charged when you go back in and specifically purchase another goodybag. This could be 3 months later, or 9 months later. It's effectively pay as you go.

Also, i'm on this myself and can confirm its hassle free. I get amazing signal as its basically just using o2's transmitters. Massive savings, great service, great network coverage and a really really great price It's a win win. You can even transfer / keep your old number. Search around their site for more details. Any other questions ask below.

Deal valid until the 31/12/10. Although from past experience, they tend to continue these deals on after the period and extending them, if not making them permanent.

You can get this just from visiting - giffgaff.com/ for anyone who isn't sure about the other link.

NB: REFERRALS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON HUKD.

---------------------------------

Other New Giffgaff Deals / Changes

- The free internet of 100mb per day for all members assuming you topped up within 3 months has been extended to February.

- The £30 goodybag has been removed.

been with giffgaff a couple of months now and by a country mile the best sim ive had

Good that the payg free data has been extended.

The minutes on this are 150 the 250 minutes only applies to the end of the year and then it will revert back.

giffgaff is excellent for data - its free till the end of Feb - up to 100mb a day - just for having £10 credit added to a PAYG phone - this also give you free calls to other giffgaff numbers for three months.

Cheers, didn't notice that until you said.... have been with gg for about 3 weeks now and it's brilliant, only using it payg at the moment as I am a light user... but started using it more and more now I've got friends signing up too (so getting free calls AND 500 points per referral), so might use the £10 goodybag soon, but nice to have the option whenever you want unlike with other networks where it's a rolling contract and you have to cancel etc.

A small note that you will only get the 250 minutes until 31st december 2010, after that date it will go back down to 150 minutes.

The link goes to lolagrove.com, is this definately genuine? I'm a little uneasy about giving out all of my info on a site that doesn't seem genuine..

The correct link should be -

giffgaff.com/ord…sim

what is the amount of inclusive data after the initial period ends?

Excellent - just what I needed.

This confuses people - if you buy a £10 or above goodybag (valid for 31 days) its truly unlimited and will continue so.
When we make reference to the free data finishing at the end of Feb - thats for the folks that top up and use as a normal PAYG SIM - so you could top up £10 and make zero calls or texts between now and Feb and your £10 remains as credit but you get free data.

same result.

Can anyone tell me what the 3G speeds are like? I am getting 200kbps (?) (not sure of the right abbreviation) on Orange, on a good day. It's painfully slow. I've been with Orange for over 10 years so nervous about changing

If you don't like the lolagrove thing just go to giffgaff.com/. I don't know what the other link is as its definitely not what I set the original link to.

This isn't some special offer. It's the standard tarrif so you don't need to go onto a special page. Just go to the giff gaff website and all the information is there.

In a big city, like Edinburgh on HSDPA I get about 4.96mbps download, and 1.75 mbps upload.

u get £4 cashback via quidco when u activate the sim

very inclined to look into these

Very happy giffgaffer here.
If you have a smart phone its a must.
Joine 2 months ago, topped up £10, and now have 100mb of data free till end of February.

I just activated a card with £10 credit but didn't buy a goodybag. I think this gives me free internet until 28 Feb & calls are charged PAYG with no expiry of credit - is that right?

If I transfer the £10 credit to a £10 goodybag on 28 Feb will that extend my free internet?

This is a special offer - the normal tariff is 150mins - this tariff has an additional 100 minutes due to a facebook campaign giffgaff ran - the 250mins will only be available till the end of December to buy.

I've been with giffgaff since May and its excellent with a payback scheme for people who participate in their forums - so some users get several hundred pounds back each year.

1) the first part is correct - £10 top up gives you free data till the end of Feb and if no calls/texts are made your £10 will remain.
2) The second part is correct as well - but be aware that the goodybag will only last 31 days and then another needs to be bought.
If you're a smart phone user -ie data hungry you'll be best off on the £10+tariffs unltd data - if its the odd bit of data, PAYG will be charged at 20p a mb from the 1st March or 50p a day for up to 30mb

Anyone cut one of the sims down and used it in an iPad?

A question for longer term users of GiffGaff. Do you just buy a bag once every free months and get free texts and internet?

stuattravs

There is someone on the GG forums that will send you a free cut down sim. He does this for iphones so I guess it will work with ipad. You also get free £5 credit. He also tests it before sending it out.

His name is sonesor and if you go to message 515 in this post. Cut down sim

giffgaff sims are not permitted for use in ipads unfortunately.

I love giffgaff. Was paying £10 a month to Orange, been with giffgaff for 4 months so far and only had to put £15 credit on so far, saving myself £25. Reckon I'll be saving £70-80 a year all in.

GiffGaff SIMs are only permitted for devices that send and receive calls/SMS, any tohers like the iPad, or android tabloids - will be spotted by GiffGaff and your account shut down without prior warning. Tethering is also a no go.

Not bad for some people - however a lot of networks are starting to do monthly contracts around the £10/month range, inc texts and data.

Shame the giffgaff bundles only last 30 days really.

Quidco are also offering £1 for ordering a sim and £4 cashback on any giffgaff sims activated before 31st Dec, which will make this deal hotter!
