This looks like a great price for an 8" 8mb, quad-core tablet that takes an SD card and has two cameras including a 5mp jobby. Throw in 4.2.2 android, free delivery and a year's warranty and it's a very tempting deal.

It can be bought from the main PCWorld website for another £10 but the only difference is that the packaging may sometimess be open on this one but it's guaranteed new and pristine.

Here's a very honest review...

it has a eight hour battery btw

Looks very good for the money. Still prefer 8 inches over 7 any day of the week ( as the actress said to the bishop.) got good reviews at a ton for 60 quid it looks great value.

And the review compares it at £100 to the Nexus 7 8gb which is £180 at Amazon!

pity it will be stuck on 4.2.2 forever which is already out of date

custom rom?

Can't find any custom roms. Are there any?

Cheap .. not bad ..... lol. :-)

"If you're working to a very strict budget then the Gigaset will keep you content. Its low price comes with reasonable specs and good build quality. But if you can afford to spend a little more there are better tablets out there."

And that was when it was priced at £100! What a bargain - no wonder it's gone hot.

Great kids tablet heat from me.

Is this the best tablet available at this price or there are similar ones for the same price?

I haven't seen an 8 inch 8 mb tablet for 60 quid that has 8 hr battery life and an sd card slot and a 5mp camera. The 6 inch kindle is 20 quid more and has no sd card slot.
The hudl is the next best but its not 8 inch and deficient in many other ways.

seems alright, change the description to 8gb though,

Worth a punt at this price, the wean will love it for xmas!

looks great value for money.......except resolution 1024 x 768 and ppi of 160 for an 8 inch screen seems to be too low to me

Are you referring to the HUDL 1 or 2?

What happens when the apps you want to install won't install on your version of android?
This will inevitably happen if the android version your device supports doesn't get updated.
Can you save apps? And can you install them from wherever you've saved them to (an sd card?)

This tablet seems ok but if you can stretch to another £10 more the Sero 8 is a much better spec

Agreed, for just 10 pounds more you can get much better tablets. For example the Nook HD+ with a great display and CM11.

Tempted to get one for the kids to avoid the "every time they grab the iPad" heart attacks

Anyone know of a child proof (read: bomb proof!) case for it/compatible with it?

if anyone wants a bigger 10" tablet then I recently bought this one for my dad for xmas - all he will use It for is a bit of browsing, possibly Skype so cheap as chips and a bigger screen for him to view stuff

Bought my near 3 yr old daughter a leappad tablet for xmas... wondering whether an android tab will be better looking at cost and quantity of games and functionality.

Also better CPU.. does look pretty decent for the price

Can you get GPS on this?

Looks good to me. Heat added.

Pity about the resolution though. Some 7in tablets are 1440 x 1080 (6.8in screens at 265 ppi is pretty much bog standard these days). Matching at least that resolution at 8in would be nice as you'd have native resolution for full HD.

it has gps

Get a grip.

Great price, great tablet but the lack of HDMI output kills the deal for me :-( Still HOT though

I haven't looked at the tablet in action yet but from the specification of it I would assume it would be ok for Miniclip pool

Exact same typical chinese tablet is only £55-59 on ebay, my sister bought one only last week. Not a bad piece of kit for sub £60 really, Allwinner quad core etc, usual chips. Fairly responsive, low screen resolution but for the kids it's fine.

Great thing is they come with 4.4 installed and take upgrades easily.

Native FHD would be 1920x1080 (and then youre moving into the Nexus7 2013 price range), 1440 horizontal pixels would some funky aspect ratio!

1280x800 is the more "common" 7 inch resolution on budget tablets

On a £60 tablet? It would be nice if my £5000 Peugeot 107 had a v8, low set frame and 18" alloys, but then it wouldn't have been £5000!!

We need realistic expectations and negatives!

Yes, that is the one big issue. And while you should be able to plug in a webcam, it does not want to work for me.
