Don't buy if you aren't prepared to pay a possible customs charge, pay with credit card, expect long waits sometimes, but decent service in general from aliexpress, check the returns procedure in advance as well. No warranty either 😔

Not a bad one either, previous best was £337 iirc.

Indeed if only this had the 765G chipset I'd have got one.
This is going to get boiling hot
Nice. Is it black only?

There isn't that much difference in reality. The 765g, benchmarks aren't completely different 26k to 30k, obviously the 765g is the better chip, but I'd guess this would be £80 - £100 more if it had that chip

Nope! The last note before the 10 was the 3
Great deal! What are the chances of being taxed if use DHL? And if taxed, can estimate how much it would be?

You're the man for this question.
This or:
Huawei mate 20 pro
Or

Thanks in advance mate

From previous posts Drop it,Hide it,loose it always taxes the package. Best bet would be the cheapest local mail system. Its a risk but in most cases they come within a week and are fine.

I'd go Huawei out of those three, it's the more premium phone for me.

Edit. Just seen white and green also available at same price. Is this worth 3 ton? Is it an upgrade on galaxy s9 64gb? Thx

Make sure the Huawei has Google Play Services officially pre-installed and is a Global or European model. My mate got a 9X China variant and I was lucky to figure out how to sideload Google Play (Huawei is cracking down on it) - but it's not the same as native pre-installed official Google Play Services and some things don't work. Also the phone is evidently meant for Chinese customers and didn't cleanly switch over to English (things like HiBoard had to be turned off; keyboard replaced with Gboard, etc.) - with a locked bootloader there's little prospect of unlocking it and flashing the European ROM which has native GApps. £50 he saved saved but at a small cost.

Xiaomi's CN models can be at least unlocked/switched over to a Global ROM (at your own risk - but this isn't applicable if it's a bona fide Global handset which I'm assuming the one in this deal is).

The only downside with the Xiaomi is no warranty. They only provide warranty for authorized resellers in the country of purchase. They don't service grey imports .

Every mate 20 pro has Google play services installed, as it was released before the trump saga.

Yes, at this point in time, I'd say it was quite a big one.
Sadly to say that redmi note generation after another is having camera quality issues..
It's just fair camera, poor colors and exposure
I'm resisting currently having issues with aliexpress due to non delivery tracking numbers are duff.

I could be wrong but my experience with DHL is that they will definitely find a way of charging you an admin fee for importing goods. I used to buy from iherb.com but using DHL was costing me loads and I think many people from the UK avoid iherb for this reason. Maybe it's different with China, but my DHL experience was guaranteed misery.

I've had a few from previous postings saying that no customs vat if going through DHL, obviously like you say its still risky.

It was a double whammy because DHL actively sought out customs charges so they can levy a £10 admin fee on top for paying the fees upfront for you to "speed things through", they you pay them the admin fee + customs charges/VAT, really stank and I avoid them for this reason, bunch of fluffing pesky charlatans.

I had the Huawei Mate 20 Pro for a while, absolutely superb phone. However the screen size wasn't up to my needs and the battery life let it down a bit. I went with the Huawei mate 20 X and haven't looked back, it ticks every single box for me

Currently mobiles are bigger in size but Mate 20 X is next level, more like a phablet.
Great handset. Camera is epic!!
I've had this phone ( green one ) a couple of months now and simply cannot fault it and it's Never taken longer than 40 minutes to fully charge either using the 30 w charger that came with it
How does the camera on this stack up to the p30 pro, LG pixels latest, or iPhone latest?

I work for Royal Mail, genuinely most stuff from Ali Express gets through daily with no issues, the most common items that attract customs fees tend to be high value items from the USA.
I've ordered lots of phones myself from Ali Express and never had any fees to pay.
It's definitely worth the free postage option, at very most IF it did get picked up your talking about an extra £12 due to the way most Chinese import declarations are listed.
