New HP Chromebook 14 £30 pounds off at Tesco - now £249

Found 16th Dec 2013
Currently £279 direct from HP and only available in the Coral colour at the moment. The Tesco one is in the white.

Was previously listed as a hot deal through the HP student store at £251 - hotukdeals.com/tag/dea…344
but this way you don't have to find someone with a student email address to buy it through.

Additional 2% cashback available through quidco and don't forget the clubcard points too.

Cannot see if this is the 3G version? HP one has a 250mb per month sim provided.

I don't think this is the 3G model.

Not a great deal then

It says it was £279 which implies that it is the 3G but agree it's not clear. Getting it for my parents and I expect they'll only ever use it at home anyway so wasn't that bothered. Can't seem to get the wifi only £249 version anywhere at the moment (unless this is it) so still good if you don't want to pay the extra £30.

I'm not sure if this is the 3G version, although it's only in the last few days that the £30 reduction has been applied. At £279 I would suspect it is 3G but now they have reduced it to £249 I'm not so sure, (both prices same as HP store). I've emailed Tesco asking them to clarify this. Once I get a reply I'll post it here, once I've ordered my own first tho! LOL.

Alternatively Quidco are doing 12% cashback on all HP (excluding VAT price) at the moment so if you don't mind it in Coral you can get about 28 pounds off that way - as long as they honour the cashback of course.

Does quidco work through the HP student store, grifter? If so, you could get the 12% on £251 which would make it a very nice price. Although IMO the coral and peach colours are awful looking!

This is not the 3g variant as i discovered at my cost even in the pictures its showing the 3g variant. This is not a.saving as this is the wifi unit made tesco aware of it disappointed

There isnt any saving on the tesco deal

Disappointing if that's the case. Don't really mind not having the 4G but they've obviously priced it like this to con people. If the Curry's/PC world ones are wi-fi only as well then no doubt they'll be advertising the same "bargain" in the Jan sales too.

Cashback did track through the HP student site when I bought myself one last week - though it did take ages to get the student site to actually accept my order. Really don't like the peach one though which is why I went through Tesco for my parents xmas gift.

Tescos when i query them firstly confirm that it was 3g and after seeing it phyiscally said its not misleading the pic on tesco direct is a 3g model

Currys/PC world when challenaged said thank for highlighting the issue and they are advertising it as a 3g model in the discription. Only.when you click on it. It says its a wifi model but the pics on the site it as a 3g model
Only after speaking to HP they told me they are the only supplier selling 3g model it is a nice looking bit of tech shame a lit of the other retailers are being shifty

Based on the comment above, I quickly ordered it from Tesco. I read it like this...
When I first queried them, I confirmed it was a 3G model and I confirmed it after seeing it physically
Its not misleading, the pic on Tesco Direct is a 3G model.

But after I ordered it, I read it again with a completely different meaning....
When I first queried them, they confirmed it was a 3G model
However, after seeing it physically, I told them its not, and that this is misleading because the pic on Tesco Direct is the 3G model

Goaler0504, please clarify! Either way, I personally don't mind getting the white/silver WIFI version for £249.

That is very misleading. If it does turn out to be WiFi only I'll be very quick to inform tesco of how misleading their pricing is. I have my fingers crossed but doubt it will be 3G based on these comments.

the wifi version of this is £249 i am using one now works a treat.

Confirmation from Tesco, this model does NOT have 3G -

The one we have is with Wifi and not 3G.

Rather misleading pricing!!
