When looking for this deal filter the month options to '24 months' 4th option down.

Possible 50 Quidco & 3 months half price by redemption.

This phone is a pre order due for release in mid June [soon!]

An alternative to the Desire... smaller in the hand lighter, cheaper too!

Possible to get this for 287.50 if cashback is done correctly and Quidco is successful.
So potentially 11.90 per month for a reasonably decent looking phone.

to be honest when you look at the processor and the memory then I'd rather wait and save a bit extra to buy the Desire.

HTC have an awesome range of telephones to suite every type of user and i would agree that the Desire is a beast (owning one myself). But it is about half the price of the desire on a similar deal.

I am probably going to go for this phone next. Surely you need the internet though?

Your plan 600 with mobile internet (the £40) on 18 months, has 10 months free ON REDEMPTION. That's effectively £320 for 18 months.

personally i try to reduce my exposure to cashback as much as possible. I have done them before and been successful and had a company go bust before my first claim! So now I would only consider smaller claims like this one 22.50...

It does have WiFi! But heres a deal I found inclusive of monthly data:
with internet its cheaper to buy direct from Vodafone.co.uk 20 a month (same as above but 500mb)
480 (for 24 month period)
the Quidco is 90 so total cost potentially = 390
16.25 per month.

Canty understand why someone would pay 390 for a wildfire when they can get a Desire for 340 over a lesser period.
Much superior phone to be honest...

Including a contract

If you're only interested in the phone and are currently in any contract with 02, you can get a Desire for 285 I believe

Btw haven't used either phone, but I'm perfectly entitled to an opinion nonetheless. I'm in the market to purchase a desire when the right deal comes along, which should be soon given the imminent release of the iPhone 4 (sorry, ill go clean my mouth out with soap and water:-D)

Desire is almost twice as fast, and has 50 percent more RAM...
Larger screen (3.7" compared to 3.2") and higher resolution screen.

And that works out about 6.70 more expensive each month over the 18 month period, except this is a 24 month contract so you'd be continuing to pay line rental for this after 18 months when Desire users would potentially be getting an upgrade or downgrading to a lower tarriff...

Not sure about resale value once your finished because that's all pure speculation, what might happen in the future...

But each to their own, as they say you pays your money and you takes your choice

I believe I am in the same boat. What type of offer are you holding out for?

To be honest, 100+ minutes, unlimited texts and as much internet as I can get away with (anything over 500mb) for around 25 notes a month on an 18 month contract...

not particularly bothered about which network to be honest, because when you're as demanding as that you cant be too picky who its with. As long as they've got decent signal I'm not going to complain.
Oh and someone that doesn't brand their phones would be a nice bonus too...
Avoiding cashback redemption deals if possible, I want to treat them as bonus money off rather than a necessity (for example these 17 month half price deals on a 24 month 40 notes contracts, it would be an absolute necessity for these cashback redemptions to come through for the phone to be viable financially)

I'm treating myself

Sorry to hijack your thread OP

no problem, glad to see you have some caution for cashback, loads of deals out there as you said with 12,18 moths free or half price. Treating it as a bonus is wise. I avoid as much as possible.

I imagine the desire will come down in cost during the launch of rival Apple, but if it doesn't or alters not a lot then this model is an alternative.

Can everyone stop comparing to the Desire.. I appreciate the Desire has different specifications and the Desire is more supirior in terms of specifications. But in terms of price the WildFire better.
Its like having a celeron chip and the full pentium.. you know?
Both these phones perform differently therefore for different user groups and pockets essentially. If your not ovally interested in the WildFire thats great, but go fan boy the Desire on a Desire thread. I have the Desire.. I don't think its great........ ok ok... i do lol
