I've seen a few of these on Hotdeals recently but they seem to have reduced the price even further. Good price for excellent specs imo.

Operating systemWith Windows 10 Home – get the best combination of Windows features you know and new improvements you'll love.

Fresh designSleek interior: The newly redesigned power button is neatly incorporated into the keyboard for a clean and modern look, while the fingerprint reader on the power button allows you to log in with one touch. The venting holes are also moved from the palmrest to the hinge for a fully streamlined design, in a laptop with a height of only 17.3mm.

Slim exterior: All your travel just got seamless thanks to a thin and light design. As thin as 17.3mm, your device effortlessly slips in your carry-on, backpack or bag. An aluminum top cover also gives your device a premium look and feel.

Backlit keyboard: Easily type under dim light, such as when you're on an evening flight or need to access your device in bed, with an optional backlit keyboard.

Wealth of featuresLatest processors: 10th Gen Intel® processors deliver incredible responsiveness and smooth, seamless multitasking.

Memory and storage galore: Easily switch back and forth between open applications with up to 20GB of memory. Store movies, photos and music with up to 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD storage. The PCIe NVMe SSD means much faster response time, quieter performance and improved shock resistance compared to conventional hard drives and is even faster than regular SATA SSDs.

Dramatic graphics: Enjoy the extra power and optimal everyday performance of optional NVIDIA MX 230 discrete graphics with 2GB GDDR5 vRAM.

Stunning screen: An FHD, anti-glare wide-view angling display delivers a clear, bright image that's easy on the eyes and lets you view your screen from a wide range of angles without sacrificing image quality.

USB Type-C™ port: The multifunctional port gives expanded peripheral compatibility, while supporting DisplayPort and Power Delivery, and allows you to plug into a variety of configurations and devices with one easy connection.

More memory: Intel® Optane™ Memory H10 with solid state storage. Get the responsiveness of Intel® Optane™ memory with the storage capacity of a QLC SSD all in a single M.2 card. Files needed for important tasks are quickly recognized and accelerated, helping you get to your work or game faster.

Thoughtful engineeringMiniaturized webcam: Within a 3-sided narrow boarder, the 2.7mm webcam has a 4-element lens that uses more elements than a typical webcam to deliver sharp video in all areas of the frame, while temporal noise reduction significantly improves video quality, especially in dim lighting conditions. Finally, the lens is assembled with precise machinery to ensure all points of the image are in focus.

Adaptive Thermals: Your laptop is smart enough to know when it is in your hands, lap or on a desk. This allows it to intelligently adapt its thermal profiles to stay cool. In-hand discomfort is avoided and full power is unleashed when stationary on a desk for maximum productivity.

Ready and waiting: A new lid-open sensor will turn on your laptop, even when completely off, so that you can access what you need, when you need it.

Redesigned hinge: Your laptop lifts slightly off the table when open to a 135-degree angle, allowing for increased air circulation underneath your device.

Performance Mode: With the latest version of Dell Power Manager installed, pressing the key combination of Fn + T will allow the user to switch the system power profile, enabling high-performance, regular operation, or cool-and-quiet modes.*

Seems good -
Was £888 good saving ❤
Decent laptop, 5000 series is not as premium as 7000 but still good, as for the graphics card it's pretty much crap, on par with an old GT 755M. Hot for the specs....

It’ll be fine for basic/eSports gaming, it’s also close to the GTX 950M (which is still fine) and will use a lot less power than both. Won’t waste shared system resources either. If I was buying this machine I’d spec this card - and almost always gets more for resell later too.

Agreed in terms of basic gaming, but although 950M is still crappy GP, MX230 is at least 20% weaker card...

Agreed, it'll get the job done on some reasonably light gaming, but the benefits on basic graphics productivity tasks like video editing are definitely pretty decent. If you want something a bit punchier the MX 250 on the 15 inch version gives around 50% better graphics performance for about the same price!

Is that because it has 50% more shader cores! You're not going to do anything serious on any MX card but it's better than integrated - I don't think anyone is buying a low-voltage chip and MX discrete GPU for 'serious' gaming.
12gb RAM that’s a strange config...

12gb RAM that’s a strange config...

4gb removable, 8gb in a slot
Can it run Gta 5, Fifa 20 and games like that 60fps high?
I posted this same laptop a few months ago for £747.35 and it generated a bit of heat. At this price it’s a steal. Heat OP.
Seems like a really good deal for a i7. Is it possible to customise ram to change the 4gb module to 8gb? That would be a cracker

I was watching it since you posted then. Bought it before this post appeared here. Thinking to post but OP did well posting it. Thank you very much . I used TCB £31.59 and Amex £100 Credit Back, works out £626.51 inlcuding 4 Years Collect and Return Warranty.

Unfortunately it's the 4gb that's soldered on, and the 8gb stick that's replaceable, so the only option would be replacing the 8gb with a 16gb for a total of 20gb
I just don’t get the rational of soldering 4gb of RAM on to the motherboard
Seems v good, Was going to press the button, until I got to the end of this review......

laptopmedia.com/rev…ge/

not sure if the new Inspiron models have a design flaw, a ticking time bomb for a dead screen in the future, out of warranty coverage. It seems the cooling fans exhaust up through the the back, and the screen absorbs a lot of the energy. The infra red shot in the review shows a localised heat concentration on the screen, and getting up 50C. Someone posted a question about the heat having long term damage potential, but I suspect it’s too early to know.
v v annoying, been researching these for ages, and thought this was ticking all the boxes for a non gaming v capable laptop.

Would be interested to know if anyone else knows about the screen heat issue.
Hi, it says that it has an Anti-glare LED Backlight Non-touch Narrow Border WVA Display.
Does anyone know if it is an ips display and how colour accurate it is? I am looking the to use the laptop some photo editing, so a more colour accurate screen will be preferred. Thanks!
The code says expired does anyone get the same
