Having done some research over the last few days to figure out which iPad I wanted, following Apple releasing a new iPad I've gone for the iPad Pro 10.5".

The iPad Pro 10.5" is basically the same as the iPad Air 10.5" except with 4 speakers across both sides, rather than 2 speakers on 1 side.

The Air has a slightly better processor, but for most people the speakers will be more noticeable.

Found Music Magpie had a pristine refurb for £350 on eBay too but went for this one.

Thanks! Er...is that good or bad?
Forget the speakers, the screen is the real differentiator between this and the iPad Air. This is a True Motion display and it makes a big difference.

Neither, the Cellular one just ends 09

I had this on launch, paid a fortune and its still going like a rocket ship now, fabulous screen and zero lag, like on some of the later ones, that are meant to be a little faster!!

+1 on that!

A screen with a standard refresh rate.

The screen on this Pro and the current pro refreshes twice as fast making everything seem smoother.

Ah yes, good shout, thanks. The Pro has a better camera and more RAM than the Air as well.

I actually don't like the new Pro's as much as this one either - no Touch ID or headphone jack.
Definitely go for this over the new iPad Air, once you get used to the 120hz display it'll be hard go back. In real world usage, the processor in this model is barely different to the A12 found in the new iPad Air
£50 more and you get 256 gb model.

Have you got a link (can't find it listed)? Thanks.
Love the ProMotion display. Glad to see OnePlus bring 90Hz to phones, really is about time they brought 90-120Hz displays to all flagships tbh.
Can I use apple pen on this?

Yep - the 1st gen Apple Pencil is compatible.
I used to own one of these and it is a great device, but you should be warned that a bright spot can develop on the screen -

Would be of no concern, these iPad Pro's, will either have full apple care standard warranty or the remainder of the apple warranty, pop it into any apple store via an appointment at the front of house, with an apple tech guru and they will sort it if it did!

The problem develops over time and frequently when the devices are over 12 months old. Don’t take my word for it, read the thread and see what experiences other people have had.

I had already seen it AJ, thanks for sharing it for others, all 3 of the 10.5 Pro's we had and the one we have now, have had no issues and 2 of them are over 2 years old, I was just mentioning the apple care, as for not a lot of money, you can extend it past the 24 months just in case!

Can confirm, both the 2nd Gen 10.5 and 12.9 are prone to bright spots, these being Apple’s first attempt at a 120Hz screen in the mass market. Vast majority of these are now out of warranty, and Apple will only honour a 2nd year of warranty if bought directly through them.
