Easily the best thing to have for the gym or running. Have some heat!

May be a daft question, but are these compatible with iPod docks?

It uses 3.5mm plug.

Prefer San Disk clips myself, better memory size, audio quality and functions for similar money

Should get pretty hot in here

2gb mp3 player, surely you'd be better with the cheap chinese memory card ones with a decent set of earphones, to me this offers nothing more for 10x the price, cold from me

2GB?

Power of Apple my good man!

I got a generic mp3 player on ebay for £3 and then plug in a spare microsd card in it to save loads of songs for the gym.

Still too much for a 2GB Player even if it is an Apple product. Might as well get yourself a 4GB Sansa Clip+ for £20 with room for a 32GB Micro SD. Ya £30 is £10 or so off the RRP but c'mon people, this 2GB player isn't any different to buying a cheaper alternative.

COLD!

Its basically the same design, no one would notice until they inspect it. I clip it on my shorts and its covered in my shirt all the time anyways. But ya, if a pretty girl at the gym sees me and wants to sexy time with me, then she might be able to see its not actually a cool ipod that I use when she rip off my shirt.

Notice how you can use your phone.

pointless and a rip off!!!!

Then you rip off your shirt, she sees you can't really afford the real thing, gets sad, and goes has sex with the good looking guy with iPod! oO

The writing's on the wall.... next gen due out.

Inb4 who use iPods/mp3 players I just run around with my £200-£500 phone loose I'm my pocket.

And what's the battery life like on these cheap chinese rip offs?

Cold from me. 2GB is nothing and there's no display. That may well be the point of the Shuffle but I could point you in the direction of many other MP3 players that are just as small but cost a fraction of the price. Anyone who says "perfect for the morning run!" has more money than sense, even at this 'bargain' price.

I don't get what all the hate is about. These are perfect for exercise, especially for people that make an exercise playlist. Low value, compact, clip onto clothes, rock solid and very tolerant to moisture - I wouldn't say waterproof but frankly mine gets damp all the time and it's good as the day I got it.

This is not intended to be a music player that holds all your music - that's what the other ipods are for! That's why the offer a full range of products with different features :P

In fact this is probably the most competitively priced product Apple do and I paid 30% more than this for mine.

Oh, I'll go and buy one of those instead then...

Low value

oO

I use the shuffle for the gym, Ive tried some others compact mp3 players but not needing to look at a screen is how I actually prefer it, even if they added one in future generations it should be able to function without one.

This iPod is tough as anything, it's definitely built to last.. and the battery seems to last forever. Hot from me

I have both and this is much better for the gym. You don't need to look at it to navigate around tracks. The button system on the Sansa is cumbersome to say the least, even with Rockbox on it. This also has one trick up its sleeve that the Sansa and other players don't and that is an audio announcement of tracks without having to play them. The blind and partially sighted might appreciate that one.

Great price, got one for the girlfriend for gym/jogging.

Just treated myself to an early birthday present, thanks, ideal for the gym, heat added!

Great for running long the toe path.

I paid £10 just over a year ago @ staples online.

Also better sound quality from the Sansa as well

Cold. As said sandisk's are much cheaper and personally better quality with a decent pair of earphones!

Only being talked about because it has apple's name on it. Sansas spanks its bottom it in every important department except bling. Still, a decent price for those who dont know beter. So have some heat.
