DESCRIPTION
15 % thinner and 12% lighter than the previous generation, the 101-gram Apple iPod touch 8GB features an intuitive multi-touch interface with a brilliant Retina 960-by-640 display, which renders graphics and text in rich, smooth detail, whether you're accessing music, watching videos, reading and sending emails, viewing your photos or playing games. The iPod touch 8GB offers an incredible mix of features and functions, such as two built-in cameras – one on the front for FaceTime calls and one on the rear for recording HD video, and enables you to make video calls over Wi-Fi networks to any other FaceTime-enabled iPod touch or iPhone 4. Capturing those memorable moments is easy, thanks to built-in HD 720p video recording with built-in mic.

Nice spot.

Good price,heat added.
I find the apple price structure amazing. This is pretty much the same as Iphone 4 minus the 8gb and the phone capability. So itouch 4 8gb will cost £169.95 and if you want the iphone with two extra features (16gb + network) it will cost you £499.95.

It does seem a little mad considering most of the technology is included in the touch, but then again Apple price their phone high. Heat BTW.

The phone price is nuts. Can you imagine Sony or MS getting away with that on a console- selling a PS3 with wifi and a 320gb hd for £500 and having a version with no wifi or psn and a smaller HD for £200? I'm pretty sure the cheaper one would be the seller, yet the iphone flies off the shelf on £40/mth contracts!

There's also the GPS that the iPod lacks, and some of the components aren't quite of the same quality (rear camera, screen viewing angles). But you're right, it's a lot of technology for your money in comparison to the iPhone.

it's only mad if people dont pay for it!

good deal voted hot

I have had a 32GB Touch for nearly a year and it has replaced my PDA and it gets used daily, and probably 10% of the time is music.

I have a cheap £5 per month (2GB) mobile broadband tariff with '3' combined with a MiFi unit and I have nearly all of the functionality of a an iPhone (my OH has a 16GB 3GS) with more memory for a lot less.
The GPS and camera are 2 things I would never use, so I don't miss them.

Whats the difference from the previous generation?

I know what you're trying to say, but I would disagree about the example you used, I've probably played single player on my 360 for about 4 hours, max, most of which was from the Just Cause 2 demo which I downloaded from the Marketplace, the other 10 days are purely from MW2 online

Increased screen resolution, camera featuring 720p video recording, microphone, smaller design, front facing camera for video calls, and a new updated processor

Could you tell me in detail how can we get the discount from quidco. I'm not English so that I can not understand them. thanks so much

It's a shame the technology doesn't include "a great music player".

Sorry, had to slip that one in there and I'm not purposefully trying to be a jerk as I'm a fan of the iPod (I own a 30GB Classic), I just believe the iPod Touch are great devices but overall very poor value for money as far as a music player is concerned. I've filled my 30GB iPod Classic and so will be upgrading to a 160GB Classic in the next year, yet that is not much more in price than the Touch which is only 8GB, and lets face it, 8GB is truly nothing in terms of size in todays market for a device primarily purpose marketed as a music and video player, or was originally, I'm not even sure what an iPod Touch is specifically anymore.

So, is it just size that's the problem? Just wondering about the quality of sound before I drop 300 notes on the 64gig one

Oh, I wouldn't really worry about the sound quality, it's usually a matter of the actual music file itself than the player, and not to mention a great quality pair of earphones/headphones (don't even try the standard Apple earphones you get, they're awful). So the sound quality will be fine.

It's just not good value for money in my opinion due to the lack of size in the iPod Touch. Each to their own of course but I'd much rather spend £180-190 on a 160GB iPod Classic than waste over £300 on a 64GB Touchscreen.

Depends I use the points well.So the above deals serve me well.228 QUID WITH QUIDCO but atleast 45 pounds of free grocery or 70 worth of deals tells me TESCO is better.Further customer service is really good and its there every 2-3 miles.

Totally confused with these Tesco points , can you help me out ? . How many points do i get and how much are they worth if I spend instore , I am looking at 2 Ipod Touch 32gb.

Every product you buy from Tesco fetches you points. So if you buy Ipod 32gb It is 249 on the website. So 249 points into the clubcard account (You should have a clubcard which is free)
Tesco are giving you double the points - 498 points in your account.Add another 2000 with the ipod offer= 2498 points. Each 100 points = £1 which can be used to spend at tesco.
so 2498 = almost 25 £ of free stuff
From Next few days Tesco will allow you to convert 2 times the points into vouchers
So 2498 points = Approx 48£ of Tesco vouchers free to spend in Tesco

OR if u decide to spend on Non tesco products.Visit their Clubcard website.
These points get converted to deals. So 2498 points get converted to 98£( 4times the points or 3 times the points from 6th Dec) in deals which could be used for any thing for shopping, visiting places, airmiles, hotel stay etc)So you benefit more if you spend ur points on Non tesco deals.
Hope this helps
