HDMI in? Compatible with XBOX 360?
How do these rate? Good monitors for gaming ?

D-Sub = VGA so analogue only. i.e. no DVI or HDMI.

I have VGA on a monitor higher resolution than this and it's perfectly fine

Fantastic price!!!
bargain ordered x 2
Seen a review about serious ghosting on this,

"For price this monitor is a rip off.
I recently had to replace my LG W2243S due to it breaking and replacing it with this so called newer model was a mistake at best.
I m a gamer at heart and the screen has severe ghosting issues and to be honest it looks cheap as well.
If desperate go for it but don`t make the same mistake I made."

£120 for dual monitors!, shame it has no dvi.
Hmm, I'm not sure if I should get this or not. Is having DVI/HDMI and LED backlighting worth paying a bit extra?
Ghosting is over exaggerated on all monitors, and is a poor excuse from these so called "hardcore gamers". I mean you really are clutching for straws if you're going to blame your death on ghosting. I'm playing on an LG IPS and have no problem with cod. Screen is terrible, but I wouldn't say it's made my game worse at all.
heat added. xbox 360 users can get a xbox vga cable and play at 1080p!
What is there to complain about at this price, includes delivery:)
Ok, I'll bite!
Remember topcashback if buying, computer section is valid.
Eyefinity for £180.
Good if you want cheap eyefinity.

Bear in mind I paid many times over this to get 3x 27" Eyefinity monitors with superior DisplayPort inputs, so this deal is decent even with VGA.

was looking for a cheap hd monitor for my mac air. hits the spot with the adapter. perfect.
Bear in mind I ry and look good by getting over the point that I paid a fortune and its not as good as my setup but its ok
i'm not a gamer. i can understand the fuss and the interest in detail but i'm here ultimately for the value and the price of comparable items. only going to use it to watch youtube and iplayer anyway. a splendid item if i personally could afford it.

Eyefinity for £180.

That's true though if you can afford the graphics horsepower to run EyeFinity then you can probably afford a bit more money to buy better monitors supporting digital inputs too.
While VGA is fine IMO (technically speaking, there are reasons it is better than DVI), the lack of additional inputs is quite restrictive if you want to share between say your PC and Console (like I do). Something to consider anyway.

For those with DVI ports only, you can convert to VGA relatively cheaply via a £2 cable on ebay

How is VGA technically better than DVI in any way at all? Unless it's the myth dating back to CRT monitors. For one, DVI is resistant to interference and is a true representation of what the graphics card output.

As to the adapters, they only work on DVI-I signals, if you have a DVI-D signal (digital only), you are out of luck.
Typical, just recently I bought a used monitor off here for £63 delivered (inc. paypal charges)... gutted. And to add insult to injury its d-sub vga only.
Hi I am in interested in this for my son to play his 360 on, I was looking for a TV and never thought about a monitor. What adaptor would he need to use his 360 with this? Thanks

Just search for "xbox 360 vga cable" - eBay have them for under £3

Agreed - getting a decent size monitor like this without the proper connections is not a good deal. If you wait for the right sale to come along, you can get DVI for 10 or 20 pounds more.

It depends on your needs...
I got a VGA-only monitor but then decided that I'd like to run my PS3 through it so I had to spend £25 on a HDMI-VGA converter (which works well)
VGA looks almost the same as DVI if you run at native resolution but suffers greatly (blurry) if you run at anything lower.
As for LED-backlit, some argue that the light is more uniform on LED (backlight bleed / fade is more evident on cheaper cold cathode LCD monitors) but most choose it because LED monitors are thinner than CC ones.

Edit: Oh, and HDMI on monitors is pointless as you can get a HDMI-DVI adapter for a quid and nobody in their right mind would want to run HDMI audio through monitor speakers

great price despite no dvi,hdmi
Help please.

I just bought this for a dual monitor. I assume I need to install a second video card now to use it? If so, can anyone recommend a basic one that is easy to install (just want it for use Word, surfing net etc).

Also, what cable should I buy to connect this monitor up to the computer (I bought the £199 ebuyer computer from Ebay that was on this site a few weeks ago)

Thanks in advance, Phil

Depending on the model of Xbox (older ones dont have an HDMI out), you could use this google.co.uk/search?q=hdmi+to+dvi&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a

Beware though, DVI doesn't carry sound, you'll need a seperate audio feed!

If you can link us to the deal, we might be able to have a looky see for you Phil It's quite possible that you won't need a new graphics card but if you do, you'll only need one

Oh, and tell us what you want to do with your machine (ie word processing, surfing, or more?)!

Can you find the deal link or look-up the Ebuyer quick find code from your invoice please.

This "should" do the job... VTX3D 1GB Radeon HD 5450 DDR3 Graphics Card

In case the on-board video and the new plug-in card don't like each other you may also want to order one of these, so you can plug both monitor into the new card.
