Great prices, but I'd really rather sit on a spike for 8 hours.
I’ve added heat for the heads up, but my goodness what a way to travel. Last experience was 2 knackered 80s busses, smelly people & obese overspillers.

Had a comfy first experience. Devon to London. No complaints whatsoever.

Booking fee is now £1.00
£1.00 booking fee, What top off
travel and buses are no different than using national express!
Good price for a loser cruiser.
Megabus source their vehicles from Nairobi scrapyards.
I used to use megabus each time i wanted to go to London, But the last time was horrible and unnearving all because of one agressive person that was kept threatening another passenger, he then started insulting the other guys religion. Yet this other guy had done nothing wrong, Eventually the coach driver stopped and said to the guy that was been threatened that if there was any more trouble he would be removed from the coach!
I once went to paris from newcastle on the megabus.... 19 hours each way but only cost me 40 quid return
your ancestors traveled these distances by foot, in mud with dangers everywhere..and some of you complain about comfort? isn t a bit hipocrisy..I think all of us should take this bus in order to understand and see the real life outhere..being sourrounded by all sorts of people, by the cruel reality, and than maybe you ll appreciate more...these kind of things...just 2 cents on this.

How is it hypocritical in any way? Also, what's wrong with tuppence?

Nahh national express is a much more comfortable and nicer experience , wider more comfier seats , more space between each seat and the rows and drivers who actually make the effort to communicate and interact with the passengers , megabus seating is only vaguely more comfortable than the regular city buses youd catch to town sorry
It's Xmas !
Do these guys actually use buses or coaches for their long haul trips?

I'm very reluctant to go by bus to anywhere outside zone 3 unless it's in a coach.

Wouldn't be worth the ballache (no pun intended).

Kindest regards
I wonder why they don’t do Portsmouth to London? We are going to see Nightwish in December and this would have been handy. Ah well heat added anyway.

My ancestors also had a tot of whiskey before someone hacked off their leg with a rusty saw? Should i forego anaesthetic too? If people are complaining its because they arent happy about the value (in their opinion) they are getting for their hard earned money.

That's not hypocrisy.
And i really doubt anyone aside from soldiers travelled these distances by foot. It's only the last 40-odd years people have really travelled much in the UK -- when there was a functioning rail system.
Before then, people went from cradle to grave in the town they were born. Although, visit the South-West of England and you'll see nothing's really changed much, there.
nice find, booked to a couple of returns in december for £5 including booking fee
Only had one bad journey on Megabus when I made the mistake of taking an evening coach right before Christmas, it was packed and like a sauna, plus an old bloke sitting in-front kept farting and I'm fairly sure the fit girl sitting next to me thought I was the culprit Every other journey was alright, I once got a free return so did 400 miles for £1.50.
Good find but .....I travelled from Liverpool to Windsor in 2015 with the only toilet blocked 🤮

Lol yh when you book these either don’t use the toilets or use it as soon as possible, they normally get blocked and smell of p iss, don’t sit near them either unless you wanna hear someone having a dump 🏾
^ this. Once the toilets were blocked and the driver stopped at a services, as above I avoid using them.

shock horror, cheaper ways to travel attract the great unwashed.
Quite interested in visiting Bakewell, home of Bakewell Tart. Any Megabus to Bakewell please? If yes does the bus go to the tart factory?

Where the punchline ?
To which punchline do you refer might I enquire?
Only just noticed this will check it out. Thanks
Old post?
Just because it's cheap, doesn't mean you should put yourself through it! For students and desperate people only!!
I got my train tickets from London to Wales for £20 rather than £17.30 for megabus. Not much good for us Londoners looking to evacuate the city around the 20th of December
theres also a £5 voucher available for bookings in november now

uk.megabus.com/spe…ers

useful for me for a trip after xmas since there are no cheaper train fares - all appear to be near the maximum price

Understandable that people would prefer the train which is 3 time or more quicker when the price difference isnt too large

the bus travel is best mid week when the buses are the most empty - mondays & fridays can be pretty bad when the buses are completely full - you almost always find one or more people near you that decide the best way to pass the time is to spend hours talking on the phone or to use there phone/tablet as a video player WITHOUT earphones - the other issue can be peoples hygeine & to a lesser extent their smelly food

my main tip would be to completely empty your bladder just before you get on the bus & to avoid drinking too much to avoid needing to use the toilet which is designed for a hobbit & after a couple of hours usually stinks (especially in summer) & can get quite dirty

Quite rare to hear anyone speaking English on these buses nowadays (sign of the times & a consequence of the 'great replacement') - any English speaking people are usually students or OAPs
