Prolly thought this was the diesel version. Here you enjoy a engine dervied from the classic Nissan HR block.

Away on an RAC truck again.
Afaik engines made by Renault with tuning etc all done by Mercedes themselves. Interior on these are pretty nice tbh

I think you're pretty much paying for the brand/`luxury` hatchback with a180...

I feel you. I bought our kids a budgie. After reading the posts regarding this mercedes I too now feel that the budgie has issues.
Does anyone know if I can return it as this post says the A class has 3 years servicing and I'm pretty sure the budgie needs a service also the bell fell off his mirror twice now. I'm gutted .

A Mercedes if so that's good to know as it helps to highlight general reliability of the make.
Think he just might need more than a service I'm afraid......

I am reading this and unless I’m being really thick, it doesn’t say auto or manual anywhere - any ideas? Just curious - not looking to change!

I guessed! But I was more pointing out that it literally doesn’t say anywhere that I can see! Also if you’re buying a (luxury) car, I don’t think I can be bothered to faff with gears these days - I think how much time the average driver spends stuck in traffic, I know some people prefer manuals but I’m not one of them!

The old argument was that automatic was really inefficient and unreliable but not now so it’s just ‘driver enjoyment’ and cost considerations these days.
Thats an amazing price drop, but as the diesel crash progresses even this price will look expensive.
Mercs are bad value normally these days . Even Taxis have switched away from them because of reliability issues.
Diesels manufactured before 2015 are about to flood the second hand market at silly prices.

You will get a top second hand merc for peanuts within the next year or so as Londoners prepare for Armageddon in 2021 as the London Ultra low emission zone is expanded massively. This is a bonaza for those of us who live outside of London. Also the older top end Mercs have reliable engines compared to the cheap newer Mercs.

Oh right I was thinking of the older generation my bad
Pay all that money and have to keep it .... 6 years leasing nice big powerful new cars for me please....
Not suitable for UK: steering on wrong side and a front number plate fitted (should be on top of dash).

Its the equivalent of a Ford Focus or VW Golf to me,imo the better build quality starts with the E class.
The older model was pretty. This model is horrendously boring.

I can't believe these designers get paid to come up with these awful cars.

It’s the equivalent size. I don’t even like these but the interior quality and materials used far exceeds the Focus and Golf. The Focus has tons of cheap plastic switchgear and the Golf is functional and utilitarian.

I agree with that. The older one looks better, it has a bit of flair to the design, the new one looks worse including those triangular lights and flat, straight sides / just looks so uninspired...

I was similarly concerned like you but if you’re not serious yet, enter random details and the quote will be on screen, not an email link. However, after I did that, I was more than happy with the quote I received for a different car....it’s coming in November, 16% off retail

For balance I thought I'd say that I too have a C250 Estate with the Premium Plus package and haven't had a single issue thus far, had it for nearly 2 years now from new. Great car and lovely to drive (only complaint is no Android Auto and the engine is a bit noisy).

I won't be getting another though when the term is up, thinking of a Skoda Superb with just ad many bells and whistles for a significantly lower monthly cost. I've scratched my "nice car" itch now!
I’ve just today received an email from them with current offers. Selfishly, it’s a lengthy message with plenty of offers and too many links to post but discounts range from 7% on the Evoque up to 28.5% on the Citroen C4 and various discounts on various cars in between........
