How do I check how much the road tax is after the first year?

Never bought a new car before. Is this an actual real discount - So I can sell it in 3-5 years and get the same money BACK? YES IT'S A DECENT DISCOUNT ON A NEW MB BUT IT WILL STILL LOSE MONEY LIKE All CARS

How do I check how long the mercedes's warranty IS? ITS BRAND NEW SUPPLIED BY A UK MB DEALERSHIP ALL DRIVE THE Deal DO IS BROKER THE DEAL (I. E Introduce you to dealership) you do deal with MB dealer direct & DTD get paid a commission by the dealership)

Will this have a digital instrument cluster TOO? YES

How do I check how much the road tax is after the first YEAR? ITS OVER 40K LIST PRICE SO £465 per year

If I was serious I would go to my nearest MB dealer & go see the car & ask them to match the deal. If happy with car you can then go & buy it from whoever you wish

Silly comment really. Should always consider the overall costs when purchasing anything of value.

Like saying, may as well buy a petrol version as the mpg won't matter when you're spending £30k plus.

I tried driving to work once in a 2 bed flat, took forever. Literally.

You think that's bad,you wanna try getting a 4 bed semi down to Mercedes for a full service

Over 40k car list, so road tax about £465 for following five years I believe.

Thanks for answering. Well if this is a really good discount, and i can sell it back in a few years without much of a loss, i dont see a reason not to get it. Didnt realise the road tax is based on the list price, and not the price you paid for. That sucks!

Might pop to the mb dealer. Going to ask them what the difference is between amg and night edition.

It'll only be worth c50% of its list price after 3 years, if that.

If you are spending that much money on a car it shouldn't matter what the associated costs are, it should be well within your means to pay them. Whether it makes economic sense to the majority of people or not makes no difference. If you can't afford to use it as it should be, then look at a lower priced item.

Buy to let. Obviously Mr S doesn't live in an expensive area where 30K wouldn't even be a deposit.....

Cracking engine in the new 220d. Certainly a noticeable improvement over the previous generation.
more like 17K

Currently driving the SE version of the E Class whilst my C Class is for some work. Nice car, even in SE trim, which would likely keep most people happy. Quite enjoy the suspension setup on the SE for cruising. Noticeable comfort improvement to my AMG Line for sure. 220d is also a cracking little engine, but I am biased as it’s the same engine I have in mine.
Great price if you’re going for that Addison Lee look 🚕
Was actually considering this car earlier this week but the depreciation on the e class is horrendous. The dealer was trying to sell me a new one for £45K when they had an 8 month old one with 3000 miles on it outside for £34K
Cold. Am I missing something but you have to add 4.5k to posted deal to buy with cash.

Yes.
Just put the money aside (could even put the money to use in an ISA, mortgage, BTL!) and pay off the monthlys as required from the pot.

Basically you have your captial working for you else where and not tied up in a depreciating asset.
Also the reason why people, even with lots of cash still choose to lease/hire/pcp. Some people think it just means they can't afford the car/asset cos they haven't bought it outright.

Frees the captial to work for you else where...

Buy to let isn't as easy as just getting a house and renting it out. What about maintainence. Landlord insurance. Getting a Tennant that looks after the place just to name a few. More income tax to pay due to a 2nd income.

I've got an AMG cab petrol 19 plate, costs me about £70 a week in petrol against the £50 in diesel on a Hyundai Tucson 66 plate but I only lease depreciating assets and invest in appreciating assets. Guess which car gets the most miles added? Anyone know of a mileage blocker for the Merc that can fool the Merc data stream?

Once you're up and running yes it's easy. But it's not as easy as saying to somebody who has never done it. oh just put this 30k down on a house and watch the money roll in.
