Is there talk of relocating the UK to another continent ?

We have to leave the region and have our own lock system. Don’t want Jonny foreigner coming over here and playing our sweet ds games.

Thanks for this - prefer to buy from Amazon over Grainger even if it's Amazon Germany .
Ordered, thanks OP
So this will be a German console? German plug and all that? Or is it the same as you'd buy in UK amazon

For £6 more these are a no brainer!
So will this have EU charger instead of UK?

I just much prefer the other design.
Pokemon edition consoles are highly collectible, great price especially if you are a collector
It will have a specific adapter for Germany but an adapter changer for Europe to UK are only cheap, however am I able to play UK games on it? Just bought It and I’m just wondering if it will be able to play them and if the 2ds may have German writing on the box/back of the console.

The 2DS will be a European region version, which means any games you buy will play just fine

The region lock is Europe, which as of now we are still part of and all games will work no problem. The charger on the other hand will be for the German market and either need an adapter or just buy a U.K. one for about £8.

Yep, got the statement below from Nintendo's site.

Nintendo DS systems do not employ a region code, meaning that domestically purchased hardware and software is compatible with hardware and software purchased abroad. However, the power supply for Nintendo DS is designed to meet the technical requirements of different countries. Also, certain Multi-Card multiplayer games for Nintendo DS may only have compatible multiplayer functionality with a version of the game purchased in the same region.
New 3ds xls don't come with chargers I believe, only the 2DS varients do

That statement is about the original DS systems.
The 3DS family of systems are region-locked.
Regional coding
'The list below shows the areas covered by each code:
NTSC-U/C - United States, Canada, Caribbean, Central America Mexico, South America.
NTSC-J - Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Southeast Asia.
NTSC-C - mainland China.
PAL - Europe, Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa.'

Incorrect. That’s for the DS system, aka years old advice for a completely different gen of handheld. Just a heads up in case anyone reads this and needs to know 100% what the score is

If your payment method charges a 'foreign transaction fee' then yes you will be charged that. Most regular cards have a 2% - 3% fee with the worst having a set charge (eg. £1.50) added on top of that.
So using a 'fee free' payment method is the answer

I can't find anything online as to whether Barclays or Santander charge for online shopping transactions, have you got any idea if they do?

You need to look up your specific cards. Look for 'foreign transaction fee' or 'foreign currency transaction'. The information will be available.
Also MSE used to have a web page where you could check any cards fee's. *here it is moneysavingexpert.com/cre…rds (chance it may not be entirely up to date)

These are both back in stock. Slight price difference. Now £108.88 delivered.
Thanks OP!

I just bought the Pikachu one, for anyone still looking it was about 125 in Euros after shipping and vat etc so with their exchange rate it worked out around £110.

Cheapest around still - get google translate at the ready
