None.

It might be slightly quicker from Amazon France however. amazon.fr/dp/…MZE

Check with your bank as to how they deal with foreign transactions, some with charge a % fee.

Only other issue, is the rate of Euro conversion which will be the time it is dispatched so might go up or down.

As there is no plug in the box any-more, I'd guess it is 100% exactly the same as the UK stock. So many languages on the UK boxes it must be a common Euro model.

there must be something? warranty? support?

Probably better, I think things are typically two years in most of Europe. (technically the UK is six years for manufacturing faults if you can prove it, I think)

But the UK 3DS warranty page:

nintendo.co.uk/Sup…tml

Has the following exclusion:

the Product if it was purchased outside the European Economic Area;

So the Nintendo UK will cover you, I think. Otherwise you get two years warranty with Nintendo Spain.

Just bought it from the French store for Euros 198.79 delivered. Comes to £152.08, which I guess will be around £160 including forex fees. So, a £20 saving over buying in the UK.

Don't think banks can charge a fee for € (Part of being in the EU). $ is a different thing entirely.

(If that is not the case then you can enable the Amazon Currency Converter and pay a rate that is a bit higher than normal).

Don't think Nintendo can refuse the warranty either. (And they play it very safe because of the fine they got).

Of course they can - and will. They are providing a forex service, and (rightly) expect a fee for that service.

I'd have gone for that too, but what put me off is you don't get a box and cartridge. It is just pre-installed on the console (or memory card).

BTW where do you add MM for £25?

How do we find out what the fee will be? I never done this before. Are different banks all different or they all very similar?

The exchange rate is pretty good at the moment (that's down to a relatively weak Euro as opposed to a sudden interest in Sterling). So for the first time in what seems like ages, it's actually worth taking advantage of our EU membership and making some decent savings. You're basically getting more for your Pound, and there are no additional duties or VAT to pay if you import goods from EU member states. It's not likely to last long though, so take advantage whilst you can.

the majoras mask console is sold out everywhere.... scalpers are selling them on evilbay for £400+

If I get charged 3% on purchases not in sterling, wouldn't I be better buying from Zavvi and using 10% off welcome code - brings down the £200 bundle of the XL with MM to £180?

the only catch is that the new version for £180 comes out next month ... no major improvement but thats why theres a discount

Handy lookup of what your debit and credit card provider will charge you for overseas purchases, the section How Good is Your Current Plastic

moneysavingexpert.com/tra…ney

Also, going back to an earlier post, try not to use Amazon Currency Converter (ACC) unless you can't wait for a purchase and really, really haven't got time to get a decent (fee free) card for foreign purchases.. ACC will probably be better than your standard bank rate mind... and ALSO pay in Euros.

I cancelled my order. Keep an eye on Nintendo Website and it might appear in stock again. This post is where I ordered mine

I done the Zavvi one and they cancelled my order AND deleted the new account. It seems it goes against their T&C. Can't use a code on consoles. Can give it a try if you want but it will most likely be cancelled on you

Thank you. I'm American and still not familiar with how everything works. Didn't realise it was an EU thing rather than UK.

That's the second or third time I seen that happen. Would have thought Nintendo would have learnt their lesson with the Wii U confusion but they are repeating it with the 3DS too. lol

Next month the NEW3dsxl comes out. That is what OP's deal is for. You're linking to the old 3dsxl

This is a good price and I was tempted for a bit but I find it annoying that Nintendo has come up with yet another 3DS revision without offering existing 3DS model customers an easy upgrade path. I originally bought the old 3DS and like the 3D effect a lot but really struggled with getting the 3D sweet spot as even the slightest movement of the hands or head would cause it to go off causing a horrible double image and a headache after continued use. When the 3DS XL came out I thought they might have fixed it so sold off my 3DS and bought that. Bigger screen is nice but the 3D is just as bad, you have to sit like a statue (impossible to sustain for any length of time) or the 3D goes off into double images and headache ensues. So I have to use it in 2D, which, on the XL particularly, badly exposes the screens low 400P resolution (the 3D seems to hide the low resolution somehow) and of course takes away the consoles one unique selling point.

Now (I hear) Nintendo has finally fixed the problem with the 3D display but expects existing customers to fork out again. For me it would be the third time just to get a system that does what the original 3DS was supposed to!

I think there should be a upgrade plan from Nintendo for those who have the existing 3DS models to trade them in towards the new 3DS, as in my view the original 3DS and XL are simply not fit for purpose thanks to the sub par 3D screen.

I think Game typically have a trade in offer.
