I realized not everyone can afford the switch so instead you can get a new Nintendo 3ds XL Metallic Black. For example if you havent played pokemon sun/moon or want to play previous zelda games before BOTW. Also available in metallic blue @Tesco
Using code - TDX-KPYK

Or you can use amazon.

Are they cheaper because they have dual TN screens?
Wait for the 2DS XL - bound to be cheaper!

It just seems to be a more sleek design and no 3d not sure on battery life advertised at $150 so prob £120 here

It also has an amiibo scanner built in
The 3D is better i.e. Usable.
I keep getting £10 off £50 vouchers from the cashier in store for spending in tesco's for gaming . that may help may help bring the price down.
im goanna be waiting for the official price on the 2DS XL, a lot cheaper plus I would only turn off the 3d function on a 3ds
going to wait for new 2ds xl end of July
Maybe wait for the brand new New Nintendo 2DS XL. The new Nintendo 3DS XL is getting old.

These names are so ridiculous, it cracks me up.

I agree, especially the 'New' prefix. If they replace the 2DS again they will have to call it the 'New New' or 'Newer' 2DS.

More like £140
why would they sell it cheaper? what a catch?
The new 2ds XL looks to be a fair bit lighter than both the 3ds XL models - would be tempted to upgrade from my old 3ds XL which is pretty heavy.
I was a little disappointed in how expensive 3DSs were but there's a fair amount of good titles on it. It seems like a 2DS would be a better buy imo since they're half the price or see how the 2ds xl goes.
My son got a new 3DSXL for Christmas. He's ten. He absolutely loves it. I wouldn't mind a go...

Not by much, it's $150, which is around £116, add 20% VAT, then we are looking at £139.99, for a tenner extra you are better off going for the New 3DS XL, it has 3D, and looks better.

3DS will remain dominant.
Thanks OP, ordered. Would have preferred the orange one but not worth an extra £50. Heat from me
EDIT
Just went on eBay to see if they had a clip on cover in orange, Tesco eBay store were selling a refub 3DS XL for £129. Phoned Tesco Direct, cancelled order & got the orange one from their eBay store.
£132.99 for 2DS XL at GAME website.
Looks like the new 2ds folds. But I'm still happy with mine.
Sounds like the new 2DS XL will boast similar power to the new 3DS, so it can run SNES games and Xenoblade, and should comfortably run the likes of Hyrule Warriors.
Heat for the price, but I'm expecting the 2DS XL to be slightly cheaper, with some better processing power to boot. Obviously, no stereoscopic 3D, but who actually cares about that gimmick? I've had a 3DS since launch and had the 3D turned on for no more than a couple of hours total. It doesn't add anything to the experience, except occasional lag in my opinion.

Had 3D since launch too, always have 3D turned on for games that use it, wouldn't get a 2DS for that reason. Theres only a few games where it adds to gameplay though admittedly.

This won't have a better processor. The 3DS really adds the to the immersion and makes the game look bigger than it is.

This has the same faster processor like the New 3DS'S. Yoshi for example runs 30fps on older 3DS and 2DS but runs 60fps on these newer ones with faster processor. Also has Amibo support.
