***NEW*** Nintendo Switch UK AC Adapter £17.59 @ musicMagpie, (after 20% discount, price before discount £21.99)

After purchasing a Switch from Simply Games and received a European AC adapter with the console, I was looking to purchase a UK AC adapter.

Knowing musicMagpie reputation your guess is good as mine if one will receive a new adapter.

As for this price I’d take the gamble as I
have not seen one for less than twenty quid.

I charge mine with a generic USB C cable. Not sure the official one is needed, but this is a good price for it.
***new*** in the title. disclaimer in the description. sneaky.
Thanks. Needed another one as managed to get another dock without AC adapter for cheap

there was something on Nintendolife a while back warning against this. Nintendo came out and said the cable needs a specific resistance, or some such nonsense. The pro controller comes with an appropriate USB A to USB C cable, somewhat conveniently.

You'll most likely need an official one for playing it docked as it needs more power than most USB chargers provide.

this was in an article where they were trying to downplay the Switch bricking itself when plugged into third party docks iirc

I've seen and heard horror stories (Youtube) of the switch bricking up without the official adapter and I didn’t want to chance it, Thanks for your input.

I couldn't play in docked mode with the pro controller usb cable and generic usb charger. So this is likely true from my experience.

56 ohms I believe is the maximum, as I had a few Anker ones and emailed them to check and the cables were fine luckily
What is the Watts on this ? Can this charge a MacBook
Why not just get a £2 plug adapter instead of paying £18 for a whole plug?

"Nintendo", basically. the charger has an unusual output, plus there's horror stories of bricked consoles.

That is fine, as long as you get a proper AC adapter and not one that is just for bathroom shavers. I bought an EU Wii U rather cheap back in the day and regretted it. The AC does not connect as well as 3-pin UK plugs do. Was always getting pulled out. And with an adaptor it comes out way to far from the wall. Not ideal if you might want to sit some furniture close to the wall where socket is. You could also just move to France sand save on buying adapters
Looks like a rip off price.

Doesn’t the plug have to be 45w

From a plug adapter? Thought all those reports were from dodgy 3rd party docks, I doubt a plug adapter cares what you push through it they don't even have fuses.

Thanks for your advice, but the adapter I received with the console, does not sit right it sticks out, plus I can't use the other plug on my extension cord.

You just cut the EU plug off and wire on a UK one. Wiring a plug is something any adult should be able to do.
Sorry guys OOS now, will expire the deal.

May be expired but a warning to anyone hoping it goes back in stock. IME Music Magpie = Complete Debacle. They blatantly avoided my communications with them and then lied to me last week, didn't send any orders, and had kept payment for two weeks before refunding. I'd avoid like the plague!
Back in stock I just ordered one.

why are the docks so hard to find? I want one to put at my mums house for the kids!
Received mine today, looks new, no seal on the box.

They probably didn't sell very well because they're expensive. store.nintendo.co.uk and I imagine Amazon should still sell them *Nope!
