Agree. A friend of mine who worked in a jewellers reckoned Omega were trying to position themselves as more 'high end' to compete with the likes of Rolex. Even prices of older models would be raised by 15% every spring, to make the brand seem more exclusive. A shame really.

Yes, you’ve used this comment before, on another PO post I believe. It’s a wonder that you keep visiting them just to state that you think they look like kid’s watches.

Perhaps a more positive approach would be avoiding the negative comments and posting a good deal for a watch that you do like.

Nice. It might be a good idea to put Watches of Mayfair in the title.

Done. Thansk.
40%+ off is good, 18% is nothing special.

How about 39 per cent?
£4277 with the metal bracelet. Personally prefer the grey and orange to the black and orange.

Grey orange is good
I have been waiting for 12+ months for this De Ville to be discounted, but no look so far. Any ideas on what companies may be discounting?

Thanks

Its not an official retailer tho. Burrells are.

brilliant - have you got a list for the what the cut off for a good deal is -around the 23.7% and above mark would be my suggestion.

Totally . They are trying to re-position themselves. Gone up too far too fast and I cant imagine paying over £4k for an Omega (steel watch). They have even opened up their own stores.

Raise the prices and people will buy thinking it's better quality than it actually is.

Watch this go 1000° with not one sale through this site.

Who wants any automatic when they are fragile, high maintenance and don't even keep good time.
Think I'll stick to my Charlue Brown Timex watch

Omega has always been on par with Rolex.
All watch brands are increasing, a Rolex Sub back in 2006 cost £2000, now its £8000 with little to no improvement in the movement.

To be fair to omega, they’ve massively increased their finishing, and their coaxial movements they’re making now are unchallenged in that division

Try saying that to anyone with a Lemania 5100 from 1970! Still ticking away and worth a bomb,

heuerville.wordpress.com/tag…00/
Hideous, this will look dated in 5 years and hence poor VFM. There are nicer more classic models of PO out there which I prefer.

Far better and more elegant watches for this price!
For £ 4000 you could even get yourself a really nice timepiece in the pre-owned market

Ive tried to like them but the logo is appalling. If you looked over my shoulder and didn't know sinn was a German brand you'd assume it was a cheap Chinese knockoff of something else.

Their designs seem very noisy and angular and naming their watches after uboats is also in slightly poor taste.

Think of all those poor people who own a Triumph Spitfire!

Well you can... But I doubt people in the UK want a watch commemorating a German Uboat, in fact made from German submarine steel, in the same way I doubt many Germans have bought watches commemorating the Spitfire (like the IWC pilots spitfire edition).
This website is overall over priced in most watches compared to many other retailers. This specific watch however, is priced fairly so heat for on this.
Well I have a Sinn U1. And I ain't German.

For Sinn as a brand absolutely.

Most Chinese knockoffs feature an English word spelt slightly wrong, in a generic font, on a plain unimaginative dial you've already seen on 100 other watches. Oh look.....

Yes. Usually if you pick the 'simple' line of a watch manufacturer they look strangely simple! You could try the 144 gmt if you like writing.

sinn.de/en/…htm

And as they make a specific range for special forces and emergency workers and I'm guessing that they might last a tad longer than your cheap Chinese knock offs that you are fond of...
