Planet killing emissions - cold

So not dissimilar to making electric batteries and electricity...
Fantastic discount shame no offers on DSG
jona7709/11/2019 21:26

Voted hot but only 5000 miles per year!

The 5k miles per year only matters if you're handing it back. Also the excess mileage rate is only 3.6p per mile, so shouldn't be a deal breaker.

At 3.6p per mile excess charge, I wouldn't worry about it. Even then you'll only be liable for that charge if you don't huy it outright and you don't get offered a p/x valued in excess of the GFV, and just hand it back.
Looks like guzzle just beat me to it - a lot of car for the money. Hot.

Aah ok cheers for clarifying!
Still expensive for an average small - medium hatchback with no unique selling point
Do they purposely make it look ugly? I think they could've done better styling with the headlights which look hideous
Given that you're getting mainly VW Golf parts, development and quality this deal is terrific value. I've driven a recent model Golf with this 115ps engine and it's surprising usable for real world everyday driving, though obviously the pokier engines are more fun.

I think VW do purposely make them look fairly bland but inoffensive to avoid competition with their posher brands - VW, Audi and even SEAT - which share so many parts under the surface. It's not an ugly car by any means imo. The interiors are very smart and well finished for the price level.

If you want to pay cash and this is finance only, then assuming it is Volkswagen Financial Services you take out the finance then give your notice to withdraw to VW a day after delivery and then have 30 days to pay the balance. You would end up with a couple of pound finance charge only.
When are Skoda going to put the Fabia on the MQB platform like this one? I'd consider a Fabia for my next car if they updated it.
Well I've looked on Autotrader and even the ones with a few hundred or thousand miles can't touch this deal.
Just a pity it doesn't look as nice as the one on the thumbnail, more plain looking with wheel trim looking alloys.
But a good deal, but there are so many cars out there that they can't give them away.

I think it looks nice driven an octavia and a fabia and loved them both. Drive a passat now and it's almost the same.

It's actually based on stretched VW Polo underpinnings

Well yes and no - as the Auto Express review explains it uses the smaller version of VW's now ubiquitous MQB platform and a fair number of Golf parts. All the VW group cars now share design and hidden parts to a greater or lesser extent.

It was introduced in late 2018 for this model year's Fabia. The new version Fabia gets very good reviews in the auto press.

According to this, it had a superficial upgrade but it's still an old platform

Someone really needs to make an appointment at their local specsavers branch... where does this even closely resemble a Mazda 6???
To correct the OP, Skoda's golf equvailent is the Octavia.

"To recap, the Scala is the Czech brand’s latest rival for the Volkswagen Golf in the family hatchback class. It won’t replace the much-loved Octavia; instead, it’ll sit alongside the more saloon-shaped model in Skoda’s range, with a slightly keener price"

But it's based on a polo. Its replacing the Rapid. The dash confirms it if you look at a polo, it just has a slightly bigger body.

"Spun off a stretched version of the ‘A0’ platform that underpins the VW Polo and Seat Ibiza (yep, this is another car developed from the VAG ‘MQB’ Lego-like car-building bits)"
Cold - not a bugati
Looks just like the Audi A3 Sportback and the same engines as well heat added.

Except it's the same as an a1 with the same engines.

In the a3 there is a 2.0 petrol and diesel option.
