50" plasma must weigh an absolute ton. My 42" was about 35kg!

Freeview HD is a good idea but as its only really available for about 20% of population its a bit of a waste...should have beeen freesat HD of which at least most can get with an additional dish ETC.

Nice price though...would love to upgrade my 42" sammy plasma but it still working really well...:0(

Should be around about 50% of the population has Freeview HD by the time the world cup starts ... and once it does reach the full of the UK then Freesat will be pretty much dead in the water (except for a few enthusiasts).:whistling:

£749 at dixons delivery saturday 22nd of may and 3% quidco

You make this assumption on what exacty?

A Freesat HD tuner, in addition to the Freesat channels, allows you to tune into a whole host of free-to-air satellite channels that are not available on Freeview HD. So one would imagine that Freesat has a much longer shelf-life than some rather misguided commentators would foresee. :whistling::whistling::whistling:

Its based on my assumption that Freeview HD is FREE and that most people who don't have dishes already are not going to go to the bother of:
a) Buying a dish
b) Getting the dish professionaly fitted
c) Having an unsightly object stuck to the side of their house

and lastly:
d) it was said mainly tongue in cheek so don't get yer knickers in a twist.:whistling:

ahh thats a shame .. have done ....

It's £749.00 on Dixon's website, so I just went down to see if Curry's would price match it, as they're effectively the same company. But they wouldn't.

However, the Comet next door has it for £799.99, and Curry's have a sign saying that if you can find an in-store product cheaper within 30 miles then they'll match that price and give you 10% of the difference, making it £789.99.

They also have the deal whereby if you buy a TV for over £599 you get £10 cashback for every goal England score at the World Cup.

So, do I go through Dixon's website and Quidco (£726.53) or buy it for £789.99, hoping England score more than six goals to make it a better deal, even though I would like England to get pumped at every opportunity?

It's a dilema...
