Great phone, have its India variant. A steal for this price.
MrSwitch10/08/2019 17:30

What's the camera and battery life like?

The camera is pretty good, not as good as S9, but still exceptional. Battery is massive (Indian variant has 5k MAH Battery which lasts 2 days easily). Selfie camera is also great.

Any ideas if your dual sims are dual active on this one, as opposed to dual standby ADT?

How is the super wide angle camera on it, as looking for a mid ranger to shots with that feature, without spending 8 gazillion quid!

Yup dual standby (while on call on 1 sim, a call on 2nd sim will be active to receive calls).

The wide angle is decent, but images pixalete, so photos aren't worth zooming in. But looks amazing on phone / desktop.

Well for the £, if it has a dual modem for active dual sim mode, its a steal then, now to try and find some deals later to post, to save money on, that I want, to get enough to buy this one!!

Cheers ADT
Apologies if being a bit of an idiot, but will this be fine for UK 4G usage?

Yeah, completely, has all the required bands for use with all UK networks
MrSwitch10/08/2019 17:37

Or even SN on the front lol

I think that means dual active (if other sim works when one SIM is in use). Dual standby doesn't keep 2nd SIM active if the 1st SIM is in use. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Heat added for the price, however I think Realme X will be a much better value in this price range.

Depending on whether it's available locally?

that's correct. For UK, options will be Chinese websites. If you consider India, unless you fancy Samsung logo, there is no reason to buy this over Realme X.

Cheers, I'm curious what makes you say that?

Is it the snappy 710?

Not really, Samsung offers a brand and sturdy hardware. Realme, redmi, MI are all good on specs low on reliability. Based on personal experience.

Thats right, there are some solid reasons why Realme has captured good market share in China and India. I never understand Samsung's philosophy - They launch too many phones to confuse users and then give much weaker processors than their competitors at the same price range.

The 7940 from what I've read isn't that dissimilar to the 660, but the Realme x price seems a little much atm, and I'd rather go for something like the lenovo z6 Lite, or the meizu Note 9, both can be had for £140

I value your experience, but I differ. I have only used newer companies - OnePlus, Xiaomi. I never had any issue for reliability, the hardware on these phones have been fantastic, I think my current Pocophone is a legend and given the fact that I only paid for this around £200. I will suggest you try these, you will be surprised what these have to offer.

One key aspect you got to consider is Amoled screen, the reason I cited Realme X here. I don't think Lonovo and Meizu has that.

lol. Infact I was disappointed with Realme X, I was hoping it will come with at least SD712. But even with 710, its a good value.

To be honest, I'd probably push it a bit and get the mi 9t, seems to be the go to phone of the moment, a phone that on a good day can be had for £230 (64gb) with a processor that performs as well as previous flagships

Without doubt 730 is better than 710, but there is a price difference between Realme X and mi 9t. I will tell you an interesting thing - in india, Realme X is being preferred than mi 9t due to its lower price with marginal drop in performance. Xiaomi on other hand is facing users criticism since Indian market thinks that mi 9t (k20) has been placed over-priced in India. In fact, Xiaomi has already reduced price for K20 and K20 pro in China, India is next.
This UK model has only 4000mah compared to the Indian version?

I think I'd rather buy from ebay for PayPal + ebay protection, but to each their own I guess
Was buying a phone for a friend around £150. Currently set on the £130 for the Nokia 7.1 deal that was posted the other day. Wonder if I should splash out for this or stay with the 7.1. Not sure the A30 has NFC which the 7.1 does.
