Got it for £177 on O2 Refresh few weeks ago
I suppose its the cheapest around new so heat for that but I'd much rather of purchased the s10e last week for £349. I disliked my s9, battery was awful, and i preferred my s8 i had before it the battery lasted longer and seemed better overall

Not sure why people get worried about it being last generation. I'm still using Galaxy Note 4 and it works fine
I'm voting hot. Some might say it's pricey for something that is on the verge of being two generations old but when you compare what else is on the market (in the UK) for this price then it's still a good deal for me.

Looks a good price for someone who likes a Samsung.
I was looking at their in store £24 a month offer, but I think the S9 is a dead duck update wise

It's just got/about to get Android 10 as has my Note 9 and there is probably one more update and 2 years more security updates. At this price that's ok I think.

I bought this for only £240 last year on eBay with dual SIM . S11 with 5g will be coming soon.

I like Switchy, posts a lot of good...no! amazing deals! (not for charity though mate) but I don't like this deal. The Sony Xperia 5 deal I like better. Samsung are trying to do better with updates, bless them, but this is a 2 year old phone and it'll have fewer major Android updates. If I had £340 and I do, I wouldn't spend it on an S9. I'm not mental you know, I have to keep telling people this but for some reason they don't believe me. Anyway if you are a little touched by the crazies please go ahead and spend £340 on a 2 year old device (I can read I did see it says NEW in the title, you know what I mean etc).

Anyway look at me I don't post any phone deals, I might have done but I forget. Regardless nope I don't want this phone for £340 even new. So Switch Master Flash you can do no wrong, please send me £340 for this review I need it as I want an S9 so I can slap myself in the face with it Happy Christmas, sorry done that. Happy January, no one has money in January so for those of you that don't there are swines out there paying £340 for an S9! Call Greta this is an outrage!

You are the almighty phone dealer so who am I to critique I do feel like this deal has stolen my childhood and my dreams. How dare you Samsung! I should blame Vodafone as well as they locked the phone just to salt my wounds.
I’m just as guilty as most of getting the latest phones but my eyes are being opened, the cost of these mobile drop like rocks.

This is anything but not a good deal

So you are saying its a good deal? I think you mean this is anything but a good deal.
I'm using the S9+ and it's not skipped a beat yet, seems cheap to me for a phone that's still better than similar offerings at that price point.
Can only speak for the Note 9 but Android 10 on that is a game changer. I'd say it's the best change for android since about 5! The gestures and battery management and controls for location are massive. They basically copied iOS gestures and privacy but that's fine. Dark mode on OLED good too. As a result even if this doesn't get anything more then security updates I wouldn't worry. It's made me go back to android it's that good.

And I replaced my OnePlus One just a few months ago.

how?

Me too. It was on O2 refresh deal before Christmas. You pay £177 and a £21 a month contract and then cancel the contract when you get the phone. Then O2 refund your contract. They took about £4 from me so it worked out at £181

Samsung say they only now support 2 major updates, so my Note 8 and S8+ are dead ducks and not even 2 yrs old.

there's always a custom firmware option if you like to mess about with your tech

Apple also makes their tech obsolete with updates its not a new thing

A whole lot of us have mobile contracts that allow upgrades anyway

Great price. Ignore the trolls. I've owned the S9 for nearly 2 years now and its still going strong. This really is a steal for a snappy phone that does pretty much anything. And it will receive One UI 2.0 aswell

Not really, you just have to leave a sim in the phone for 30 days, use it once, and on day 31 get in touch with them.

Or you can get a code from eBay for £2.25 straight away and don't have to wait the 30 days
I love this site. I posted the S7 at what was a great price when it was the same age as this S9 is now. It went stone cold and I had many comments about how silly it would be to make such a purchase of an old phone with the S9 imminent. Surely S11 is just about due now. I also got this for £177 from O2 and it is a cracking phone that should easily be good for 2-3yrs use or until Samsung make the battery usage so high you are forced to replace it.

I've been waiting patiently for years to make that comment, sat with a cat in my lap in a big swivel chair.
