Does this require any special fittings or is it the ' bog standard ' model ?

Fits standard UK toilet pans.

This is far from a "crap" deal

bought 2, heat added.

Just placed an order. 3 boys under 7 in the house = lots of slamming of seats.

Can anyone confirm how big the hole is in the centre of this seat please. The other half is a bit on the plump size and needs a minimum of 22 inches diameter

You wont be saying that next time your touching cloth pacing backward and forward waiting for your seat to go down before you can use it. LOL

Quality LMAO

plastic hinges are NOT very good especially if not fitted correctly, good price but it wont last anywhere as long as the chromed versions. Still a great product for the price

hot hot seat

I have seen these before, the damping effect is lost after 6-12 months and it then drops like any other, and you are left with a flimsy pound shop toilet seat that makes you ashamed to allow visitors use the WC.

Good price as I bought a similar one from B&Q for £25, however that didn't last more than 3 months before the mechanism broke and the cheap nasty hinges started to corrode. Hope this one fairs better than that one.

Lifetime guarantee so surely if it breaks you can get a new one usually items being given a lifetime guarantee are expected to last. Why else would the manufacturer offer it

But have you found a soft close seat where this is not the case - I have had several different ones in time and they all suffer this problem Sometime I think the cheap plastic ones last longer than the wood/mdf ones as there is less weight on the mechanism.

I have 2 toilets, this comment doesnt apply!!

Can't comment on this particular item as I don't own it but experience does show that this is one area where you really do seem to get what you pay for. After going through a few cheapies I now have a Wickes jobbie (pun intended!) that has stainless steel fittings & works as smoothly & quietly as it did when bought a year ago. No rust, no loose fittings & no loss of damping.

.Then you can send it back as it says its got a 'Lifetime ' guarantee and get it replaced.

You make an excellent point. The very 1st thing I do when visiting a house is check out the quality of their toilet seat, if it's not up to snuff, I usually turn around and storm right out. Dirty, cheap toilet seat buying ****!

2 pages of comments on a toilet seat, you can tell there's nowt on the telly!

Says in the description that it:
Comes complete with corrosion free fixings for easy installation

Hope this helps anyone concerned with the corrosion effect.

Taken from the Ebay page: Items under warranty should be sent back to us. Following inspection, at our discretion we will repair, replace or return the goods should we feel there is no manufacturing fault and carriage charged.

So, just how long will that take, and what are you supposed to do in the meantime?

ernest crapper would be proud of this .

Crap all gone

Flippin' great - seat arrived. It might be 'soft' close, but the language was far from soft - when the *"W££&$ bracket broke while i was bolting the seat to the loo!! Grrrr
