This starts on Sunday 6 April and is currently only until 26 April for the outbound journey, return journey anytime within a month. Restrictions apply, the first train you can board to London is the 10:12, arriving at 11:43. You can use trains to return from 18:57, including the new 22:50 service, allowing you plenty of time if you're only going for the day. There is nothing on Virgin's official site talking about it yet, but it is available to buy on all ticket-buying websites, and in station offices. It's not an advance ticket so can either be bought any day before or on the day itself. A brilliant deal. If you live in Manchester, Stockport, Macclesfield, WIlmslow, Preston etc, simply combine it with a return/open return from your station, to still save massively. E.g. Manchester to Stoke open return Virgin only, ~£11 - you could stay on the same train making a grand total of £43 compared to £79.70 compared to an off-peak return.

All railcard discounts apply too.

great find thanks op or should I say fellow stokie:-)

If you are a couple planning to do more rail journeys, the £30 per year Two Together railcard will get you 30% off.

Thanks for the heads up. Looking to travel for a day at Wimbledon...so far managed to find one for £37!
