They really must be struggling if they're selling the new one for £65. I have a Clubcard with some points on but I don't know about boost. Will look into it. Thanks OP.

good price for Netflix tablet

They're not.

People with enough Clubcard points can potentially get it for as little as £65 - but that is not the standard price they're selling it at - it's £129.

You've already paid the difference indirectly by shopping at Tesco enough to accumulate the required Clubcard points.

This looks like a good tablet actually.
Been holding off knowing it was coming.

Does any one know the specs of the new hudl?

Android 4.4.2
Intel® Atom™ CPU Z3735D (Quad core, Baytrail graphics)
2GB RAM
16GB storage (shared with the system so available space will be lower), microSD support
8.2" 1080p screen
1.2mp front camera, 5MP rear camera
Accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, GPS, bluetooth, wifi.

The OS looks pretty uncustomised with a few extra features provided by Tesco such as parental controls etc. Looks quite good for the price!

Typing "Hudl 2" into Google revealed the following specs from the launch event:

- 8.3" Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen

- Intel Atom 1.83GHz quad-core processor (3 times faster the Hudl 1)
- Dolby Stereo Speakers
- 5 megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera
- 8 hour battery life
- Android 4.4.2 “KitKat”
- Available in 8 colours

if those specs are correct they are in line with the dell venue 8, lenovo Miix2 8-inch , Toshiba encore and they all running a full fat Windows 8 could be possible to root thus and stick Win8 on or have as dual boot?

This will give the LG Gpad 8.3 a run for its money! Win8 dual boot would be amazing but unlikely as it has an ARM processor so someone would need to hack Windows RT

Would highly recommend the tesco hudl. Brilliant especially for kids

How does the club card boost work?I'm thinking of getting one for the kids

Great tablet, especially for kids...but only costs £65 if you've saved over £30 Clubcard points already.

Every £5 of Clubcard = £10 towards a Hudl. Either instore or online.

Slightly concerned over this report albeit it being from Arm -> theregister.co.uk/201…el/

There are some other Android tablets with this processor so will do some digging.

Also why would you want to put Windows 8 on it?

It's not an arm processor, it's an Intel x86 running x86 Android.

How exactly do I buy it for £65?

Might want to learn to read the posted comments, it's already been mentioned at least once.

An interesting article.
I remember working on the first 64 bit Alpha CPU's and using emulation to get 32 bit apps to work.
Emulation/Binary translation will always be slower.

Is it still made by Archos like the first model?
If it is I'll give it a miss.

Initial hands on review -> recombu.com/mob…ate

Does say its a bit laggy.

"sluggish"

And here -> pcpro.co.uk/rev…iew

I am being a bit negative above as its very good value for the price. Just need to see what its like in action.

That is free for the OEMs that build the device, not joe public.

This looks like a steal.

This is standard price? not a deal as such?

Pretty sure this screen is 1900x1200.

Can't beat this for the specs, price and quality of build. I was surprised (genuinely) at how good the Hudl was for the price. This looks even better value. Hot from me

So you're pirating it then? You may as well just get vanilla 8.1 if you're doing that.

Definitely

Looks superb - will wait to use one as don't trust reviews from biased sources. My NookHD+ doesn't struggle with stock android so fail to see how this will.

I've voted cold btw - not yet available and standard price = not a deal.

Product is scorchio though.

Can you add cash to clubcard vouchers - I've only go £50 in vouchers(£100 on double up)

i think stock is over.. So expired?

Think I might resist this one.
