This is my first deal posting.

Saw this in Currys Newcastle upon Tyne

Top spec Dell XPS 13 on clearance to make way for 7th gen cpu version which is £500 more expensive.

Dell XPS 13
QHD+ 3200*1800 Touchscreen
i7 6560u 2.2Ghz(3.2Ghz turbo boost)
16GB Ram
512GB ssd
Intel Iris Graphics
Windows 10
15 Hours battery

This is a great deal and worth grabbing since the performance increase from the 7th gen cpu is definitely not worth the massive difference in price!

Perhaps a good time to issue a warning to other first time posters - never ever admit to being a first time poster. There are a group of 'people' on this site who will tear you to pieces and give you a baptism of ice. Just saying.

Good price laptop battery life is not realistic

The best windows 10 laptop whether you get it from Dell or pc world. I bought from Dell refurb student discount.

It never is. Just like MPG figures by car manufacturers.
I'd say half the quoted battery figure and that'll give you a good idea of run time in real world usage.

9360 is a good laptop mine cost £1500+ inc 3 year pro support. Business needs. this is a good deal.

Great deal for a great laptop!

I've got the i7-6500 version of this (very slightly earlier model) and the battery is never going to hit 15 hours, but I can get a solid day out of it (7 or 8 hours) with the Low TDP setting enabled, and Battery Saver switched on.

This is a good deal, I paid similar for the 256Gb SSD and 8Gb RAM not too long ago.

None in store at Nottingham Daybrook. Can't decide if I want one enough to go wild goose chasing... Can't see a way to check stock on the site, since it's not on there any more. Fiddlesticks.

good price but good luck trying to get heat on a premium ultrabook on HUKD, someone will be along in a minute telling you how you can get some custom made nasty Clevo chassis based thing for cheaper or a HP stream for £130.

and as others have said 15hrs...Never in a million years. less than half that. I'm yet to see an ultrabook that will give a solid 8hrs battery other than a Macbook Pro

Had a Vaio Pro 13 with extended battery pack (very thin clip on battery) which easily hit 12+ hours.

Nice deal if you can get it.

Has anyone got any tips on a good gaming laptop for around a grand ??? At a push upto £1400

you can save a lot of money if you go second hand, but then the new graphics cards are worth paying for, try pcspecialist for a new one. 1060 would be good for a laptop to last you a while, 1070 are closer to £1800. also consider how big/portable a laptop you can go for, because if it's just a portable workstation type u can handle, you can get full i7-6700k laptops second hand on eBay, there were a couple of p870dm on last week.

Word of the Day

Great deal OP, these are the best laptops in the world right now.

Dell laptops are ok if you don't mind the sound of fans... I've fixed enough of them!

I have the 9333 version running W7 + Kaspersky. Smashing machine

Wife has 9350 version running W10 + Kaspersky. Its a DOG.

Windows 10 is the culprit. Dell make good machines. Dim the screen on battery to eeek out life.

Almost agree. I had one with a noisy fan. Dell took it back and refunded it.

Later, I realised the problem was actually Microsoft when they were pushing W10 earlier this year. They overrode the Widnows Update settings and had it gobbling 25% CPU 24 hours a day. They have stopped that now and so has the problem. True the fan comes on if I use it heavily for a long period but that is rare, such is the power of the machine.

My MacBook Pro retina is similar specs, but an i5 - I still think it would kick this machine's ar5e.

Great machine, got same config. from Dell Outlet for £100 less incl. 3-year warranty 3 month ago.

Secondhand so should be cheaper

Any chance they had reductions on the FHD non-touch models?

Does anyone know how to find out which stores has these?

nice display but the processor isn't looking that impressive looking at the benchmark results

I've been looking at the Scan 3XS LG15 Vengeance. For around £1250 you can get a i7 6700HQ / GTX 1060 / 16gb RAM / 1080p G-Sync / 256gb Samsung PCI-e storage.

To get that price you need to remove Windows which knocks £93 off, then purchase a low cost key or install the Assistive Technology version. You could upgrade to the 4K screen for £119 (though I doubt you will be able to play many games at native resolution).

The GTX 1060 is a great laptop GPU but it puts you straight into £1200 territory.

£899 at Dell I think with a £100 off offer

not with this spec

i got one of those a while ago with 10% currys cash back and 200 trade in on old laptop. so worked out similar with better gfx card and CPU.

That is true, it's silent although even if mine had a fan it would be silent as it's always turned off

Sure....if it was a 'which has the most dongles' competition.....

QHD on a screen this size? Until Windows sorts its scaling out that seems like a menace to me. I have enough trouble with full HD on a 15.6 machine with my most used programs.

yeah, except this has a QHD screen, a better proccesor, 16gb ram, FHD webcam, a touch screen and probably £500 cheaper if you bought the 512gb ssd macbook, but don't worry the macbook is probably lighter and thinner which makes everything moot.

Mine is a 512gb, which should indeed have been pricier than this, but I got a good deal. As I said, I know this has a better processor, but because Windows machines are not overly slick, my MacBook would outperform it - I don't just mean it's nicer to look at, which of course it is.

A couple years ago I would have said exactly the same thing but my current circumstances mean I'm waiting for Black Friday and hoping to get a good deal on an Alienware 13 R3. Fingers crossed for £1500 or lower for the OLED screen configuration.
