Handy for laptops and netbooks or even if your desktop drive is hard to get to.

Maybe not ideal for a super critical business presentation, but at this price worth having around.

A similar drive in a recent higher priced deal got some good feedback:

shame, i would have until i saw the postage, how does one item have none yet another being the same just BR have £2.50..

Check their terms they want you to pay return shipping if you get a faulty drive. I know because I bought a tray loading one and it took me a few attempts to get a working one with decent write speeds.
I think eBay terms say the seller is responsible for shipping faulty goods back, as do the DSRs.

Having already got several external slim DVD drives I have absolutely no reason to buy this. Yep you guessed - purchased.:D

Bought, thanks.....(damn you hotdeals stealing my monies!)

I have a reason for you: You can get it in a BLUE colour X)

Great find! Just at the right time for me. ta. ordered.

For an extra £1, you can get it in either Black, White, Maroon, Green, Blue, Silver, Red, Pink or Purple on an eBay "Buy It Now" (or same price if you win one of the eBay auctions).

Different seller though.

lots of eBay sellers try this on. but your right, eBay's terms and conditions insist the seller pays return postage on faulty goods, it doesn't matter what they say in the item description. obviously what eBay says and what actually happens are not necessarily going to be the same thing.

I've had drives that havent had eject buttons before.. you're reliant on being able to boot into the OS to issue an eject command... or stick a paper clip in the little hole

if one plugged this into the usb slot on a tv...would it play dvd's ?

red hot price i say, heat added and thanks OP

Wonder if the poster who was having issues was using both the supplied USB power cable as well as the normal USB cable.

These drives probably use more than 500mA hence requiring two 5v USB inputs. If they don’t get enough juice they’ll probably act goofy.

I think that guy is correct. You need to put both USB plugs into host controllers, e.g. not via a hub (unless it is managed), otherwise it may not function if improperly powered

I don't know how they can make money at this price and even comes with free P+P, have some heat!

Only the case is new. Drives are more than likely used.

You can eject by right clicking on the drive and clicking eject!

Even if it is a recon drive its still pretty good value, I doubt they’re old drives though.

Sometimes the sellers put the price up if they get a flurry of orders.

So I thought it best to wait 'til mid evening before posting this deal, to catch them unawares!
