If you use direct link tab down 3/4 cars.
Received email this evening with this offer.
Says that you save £9,226 pounds. There's no mention of having to be a member of any loyalty scheme. For further info call 08452 669900. Presume it will be similar to offer from a few weeks ago and this will be a car that's soon to be superseded by a newer model.
The specification of the car is all on the site so I won't bore you typing it all here.

This does require you to have partners discount which tends to knock about 10% off making it this price if you work for a partners company. A few of the big ones are listed here: vauxhalloffers.com/par…php

Great price for the old model. The new 3dr GTC looks great but obviously will be nearly double this price vauxhall.co.uk/veh…tml

Seems a good deal to me

I paid much [ much] more than this 18 months ago for a 1.4 SRI Corsa for OH.
I don't really know enough about this deal - eg do they accept trade ins etc, but regardless if the Astra will shortly be dated, it still represents great value for money.

Unless you'd rather keep yer old dog that really should be put down (_;)

Come on, Humphrey - we're going for a .... walk.

I was watching some old top gears and there's a car dealer guy they had on and he said basically before the new model comes out the dealers try to flog cars off at less than the prices to take a loss but to make the quota and likewise some dealers pre-register the cars meaning that they make their sale quota but of course then they get stuck with a bunch of cars so they knock a couple grand off, also at this time of year you can also find dealers selling used cars that they wouldn't usually most likely they would be loan cars which have been lent out when peoples cars are getting fixed so you get a great car with low millage with a few grand knocked off.

Plus their giving you a direct price you could always haggle for more knocked off than the stated price , not that im near there or in my dreams afford that car

Yes - this is the model (3 door "Astra H") that Vauxhall stopped making a few months ago. And yes I agree it is a bargain as a trail out model. Its well equipped, drives well and has a 10 year "lifetime" warranty. Several dealers are offering this same deal.
My son bought one a few months back - but at that time Bristol Street refused to honour their advertised price for some reason, so he went to another dealer.

Hope Humphrey stays near Newcastle, but if his bad legs can't make it, I'm sure there's a branch nearer.
Contacted dealer [ Newcastle] and they say that car is new and can be delivered nationwide.
They've got a wide range of vehicles, but didn't state colours - and they also welcome part exchange.
If you want more details call 0191 511 5406

The only downside, as far as I can see so far from spec, is that Air Con isn't mentioned and might well be an additional charge - but I'm open to correction.

What's wrong with Vauxhall? My 2000 Vectra SRi has done 160K miles, and even with all the abuse I've given it, it still sounds in better condition than any Jap car.

Agree with Smithers. Over a twenty year period driving ten different Vauxhalls [ 9 new] I covered almost 257K miles. In that time, one fuel pump failure was the only problem I experienced.
I had 2 Fords and a Toyota in same time frame so my yearly average wasn't 12850, in case you get your calculators out.oO

Hot - Think ill go nip and grab one. Thanks

can anybody lend me 10 grand

Ohh...Poor Humphrey!... still, we got a great car deal here so who cares!...lol

I had an insignia for 2 years. Never buy a Vauxhall ever again for performance and re-sale value.

you need ot be working ofr one of those big companies to be classified for this deal as a 'partners discount'

Not sure where they dreamed up the RRP for this as there are plenty of new or nearly new around for £10-11k
findvauxhall.co.uk/use…ORT

You don't get much for £10k nowadays so if you want an uninspiring euro box, in a fixed base specification, that isn't going to depreciate hugely the moment you drive it, then his seems pretty good value for money.

What's with the 10 year? Mine is 100,000 miles?

115bhp hardly equates to a "sports hatch" but is a excellent saving so heat from me.

Hot, but still not as good a bargain as mine

Sport Hatch is the name given to the model. Some companies get away with calling hatchbacks, coupes.

Details says "includes Partners Discount" which normally is only for workers of Vauxhall, Dealers and their close relatives so this deal may not be for everyone.

Who wants a petrol the way fuel prices are??

Diesel is better value per mile, cheaper tax, cheaper insurance and generally better resale.

Original Mk 1 Golf Gti put out a MASSIVE 110bhp. Anyone that says it's that's not a sports hatch is kidding themselves

Of course, the point here is that it is a hatchback with sporty looks, ergo a sport hatch (they also do a 1.4!)

The problem for me (beyond all the it's a Vauxhall etc stuff) is that this isn't really a new car is it. It'll be a 2009 manufactured, sat around on an airfield not being driver old model astra.

Essentially, this is the same thing, except rather than sitting still, this one has done 20k miles (for which you save 2 grand).

So I'm not convinced it's such a great deal.

Don't forget higher maintenance costs and higher initial cost. Cheaper insurance is unlikely with the horse power most turbo diesels push out nowadays.

agreed and im not a snob either
only had an astra once...... never again,, from new the seat squeaked all the time? and they couldn't fix it, they greased it tioll the warranty ran out lol what a joke of a company, i now have a merc 10 years old and runs better than a 1 year old vauxhall and still no squeaks grumbles or bumps , but hey i guess pay 10k and take the risk if you dont believe all those who say otherwise.
even the kias and Hyundai are better cars imo if your looking for a cheap car.

Really ???

That does take some believing.

Vauxhall Astra Sport Hatch SRi includes:
16-inch alloy wheels

wrong.. sxi models have 16" wheels.
sri are supposed to come with 17" as standard, and 18" with the extra pack.

Diesels are fine until you get the servicing bill. Eg particulate filter for a 1.3 diesel corsa (known to fail after 40-50,000 miles) - cost inc. fitting £1,200!! EGR valve - £500 etc etc..

Unless you do mega miles, id stick with petrol models

Every brand has its haters, I too have run numerous Vauxhalls up to 150-200K miles without major bills, if folks want to judge a car by the badge so be it, no point in arguing with them IMHO.
